Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Most of the time this player wouldn't load the dvd (error message) or it would start skipping badly at some point during the movie and couldn't be corrected, either by fast forwarding, or turning it off and starting again. I would check the dvds (from Netflix) by playing them on my computer; they always worked fine. In other words it was a defect in the player not the dvds. The fact that it worked occasionally, meant all was hooked up to the new Phillips tv properly. I am very DISAPPOINTED. The warranty is for 90 days only.

When I opened the box, it only had composite & HDMI. Returned unit, the specifications on the Best Buy website lie.

Bad from the start

The second time I used it, the remote stopped working and I used the limited controls on the player. The third time, the remote worked. The fourth time, after about 15 minutes, everything started pixilating, and would not improve, including DVDs that had worked OK on this same unit a few days ago. I tried FF and REV, reloading, powering off/on, but nothing cleared the problem. Its going back, and will be replaced with a Sony or Samsung.

Poor Picture Quality

Even connected with HDMI cable, the picture quality is poor. The other annoying thing is that there's a standby led, but no power on led. Makes it confusing to know whether the player is on or off.
