Great lights. Brightness isn't the specialty, so if you want really bright lights, look elsewhere. That said, they work perfect for movie lighting or if you have a couple friends over and want to relax. I would recommend this particular bulb if you don't care about changing colors. I've tried a few other brands, but choose to suck with this one. It's connected to my Google Home, and entertains everyone when using it to turn the lights on... Lame, but fun.

I'm starting to get into the "connected home" program and this is a great starting point. They were easy to setup and features they offer are great. I can't wait to purchase more bulbs.

Great starter package that includes the hub (or bridge) for a good price. Having the hub is necessary for controlling Hue bulbs and using all their features. I found response to be instantaneous. The hub sits next to your router and connects through a lan cable to get the quickest communication with your home network. This package includes 2 white bulbs and a switch which makes it ideal for 2x lamp setup for a living room or bedroom.

Set up was easy, and the bridge takes up minimal space. When the bridge registers your command, it doesn't take long to react. It's very cool technology and does remove the pain of stumbling around looking for the light switch. My complaints are that there were a few times that my Google home confirmed my command, and the Hue app verified this, but the lights were still opposite of what I said. Also, I could not connect to my home if I was on broadband. I decided to return for now and give the tech a try again later down the road.

We got an Amazon Echo on Cyber Monday and I love controlling our lights by asking Alexa to turn them on or off or to set them at a certain intensity or theme. Despite the upfront cost these bills use considerably less power and should last 20 years or more. The only drawback is that no matter what intensity the lights are on (or off) if the power goes out(like in a thunderstorm) the lights reset and come on at full brightness when the power is restored.

I have enjoyed using the Philips Hue Lights. Easy set up and a lot of different uses.

My first purchase for my smart home. Definitely going to add more of these around the house in the future.
