Small enough to hide somewhere and makes the Hue bulbs work to their full potential.

Replaces my 1st generation bridge which was round. The 2nd generation hue bridge is required in order to use Apple's HomeKit - most specifically for my purposes to give Siri commands to turn off or turn on, brighten the lights, etc etc. But it seems going forward this bridge may be needed for future and other current home enabled integration with the Phillips lights - more than just Siri. What was disappointing is that Philipps was offering an upgrade discount, but every time I tried to apply there was a website issue, so the promotion finished and I ended up having to pay full price for the 2nd Gen bridge.

Philips hue products always was my favorite , since I have been working this company lighting department long time ago, I bought hue when it just launched because that I knew it would be a great idea , I have it all over my house now, so this item that I bought was let my hue much easier to control and it really did

What can I say? It does what It's supposed to do. Using the Philips Hue app on my iPhone, I'm able to set all kinds of different light themes and adjust lights as a group or individually. Works flawlessly. I only have 3 smart bulbs, but I'm sure this would play well with light strips or any other Philips Hue device. Only reason I give it 4 stars is I'm unsure about the quality. I had a previous Hue Bridge that came with my light kit (Bridge and 3 bulbs), and it died fairly quickly. However that was likely a fluke, so I wouldn't say it's worthy of judging this product entirely.

Easy to set up. Works great with Homekit. I haven't had any issues with it after 2 months.

Not an interesting piece of hardware, but it is very easy to install and add the interesting lights and accessories. Used this in conjunction with the PC light bars

Installed a 2nd generation Hue bridge six months ago but have only two bulbs at the moment - a large multi color and a plain white dimmable. Its always up and working and has instant response time when controlling from my iPhone5 Hue application. Very pleased but I need more bulbs for full potential. On the large bulb, I like the blues/reds and also the brighter bluish white which almost resembles a skylight in the ceiling.
