I bought this to replace my first generation mainly to enable the communication link with my Alexa. It was well worth the purchase...I'm finding it not only has that link (allowing me to do a lot more with my lights), but it also has been much more stable in performance than the original. Worth the money if you want to use the advanced features.

This Hue bridge connects all your hue lights and lets you control them through the app.

The hue bridge is easy to hook up and easy to hide from sight.

The fact that you need a hub in the first place is dumb, but it does what it needs to do. It allows you to connect your hue lights to your phone and to each other. Honestly, I don't know why that feature isn't built into the lights themselves and why the app can't directly control all the lights without a hub, but whatever.

Hue makes the best smart bulbs, but they need to step up the bridge. Having used them for years, I now have reached the point where I have over 50 bulbs. Unfortunately the bridge can only handle around 35 before having issues and I needed a second bridge. Product is great, but needs a better bridge or version for heavy users.

I haven't had a problem with this yet. It connects well.

Plug in and follow the instructions to easily connect your lights.

So far so good. No dropouts or disconnects. Got it up and running hardwired to my Google mesh in about five minutes for extra stability. I long for a world where this soft of hub isnt necessary but as long as it is, this is as good as it gets.
