After a few years of wanting to do this to my TV, I finally invested in one. These light strips are incredible and completely change the way your home theater or gaming room feels! Highly recommend it for anybody who's been on the fence about this. Pair it with the HDMI Sync box to automatically sync the colors up with what's on the screen, which makes it even better! Plus, it works with your smart home (for me, Apple Homekit) through the use of the Hue Bridge. The three together can be pricey, but definitely worth it for me!
The only struggle I had with this was the mounting brackets for the back of the TV. I have an LG TV and the back is rounded slightly. The straight mounts for the top center and sides work fine, but the corner mounts don't stick very well. I'd rather there be 4 more straight mounts and I just round the lightstrip myself. It's definitely designed for a completely flat TV, but I got it to work for me. It's not that big of an issue though, honestly.

I was lucky when the total member price dropped and decided to try it out on diner tv we had set up, and since then it has been great for the family.
Have had it for at least a year now with no issues.

This is a must for any Philips Hue user. The unit itself blends seamlessly into the back of the tv. The ambient light is great, but prepare to be amazed once you start syncing the gradient with the Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box! Setup is easy and color accuracy is amazingly on point with images on your screen. Makes movies and music videos a truly immersive experience. The music function turns any home into the ultimate party house as a bonus. Must buy!

Love this. Philips Hue is a great system and this is a great addition. The unit installs behind your television and incluides all necessary brackets and parts. Once setup and programmed into your Hue Bridge and Sync it lights up. It is fast to update to what's on the screen and the gradent feature allows the light to change on the lightstrip to whatever is on the screen near it. This makes your television feel much larger.

Upgraded to this from some play lights. The light is much better. It fills the whole space behind the tv with no gaps. Mounts with 3m strips on brackets. The strip is separate from the mounts. Works great with the hdmi sync box. You can not control the gradient of the strip though. The hue app treats it as one light and you can only set it to one color. If you use it with the sync box you can get multiple colors out of it.

Love the way the light comes off of this around my TV. I had regular strips up before and it was all one color. However, I bought the 55" for my 60" TV because it said it was good up to 65" and I have found it to be too small. I could move the strip in more, but I am afraid the adhesive won't work if I take it off and move it. Also, I have trouble getting the strip to stay in the clips. But once I get it in there, it's good.

If you want to buy the Hue Play Sync Box, this is the lighting source you want. The seven zones really allow the syncing to match the scenes. It would be helpful if it could use all seven without the syncing, but that is not an option at this time. Be aware that some TVs make this awkward to attach to the back. Look at the layout of how it is to be installed and make sure your TV will allow for it.

I cant stop using them even if the TV is off i still use it i love how bright it is and the color it puts off. It is a bit over priced but most of the Hues stuff is over priced but its kinda worth it

I've been waiting for the gradient strip for a long time, when I was finally able to get one I know why the wait was so long. This product is amazing and so worth the wait. I see why it wasn't in stock for the longest time. Very sought after and it adds that much more ambiance to your tv viewing. Whether its movies or gaming, this light strip makes the experience really pop.

One of the best investments I’ve made into my movie/tv watching experience. I absolutely love how well it enhances the experience and when I’m at a friends watching something that doesn’t have it you can instantly tell and you really miss it. Worth it completely even though you need the bridge and the sync box. So it’s definitely an investment but I feel I’ve gotten my moneys worth back and more with it.

Finicky power adapter, the brackets keep popping off the back of my C4 (don’t expect the light strip to stay in place for long), but the light show is great with movies. Stopped working for gaming for some reason… it all just feels like it takes up a lot of time in terms of keeping it working properly. The Philips Hue system, overall, isn’t fun to use, can feel like a chore.

This is a nice addition to the living room. I have the gradient strip connected to my hue app and it works great with the HDMI Sync Box.
It adds a unique feeling of immersion when watching movies or playing games. Even without the sync features, this is a great light to add great ambience to your wall.

I paired this with my Hue Sync Box and my other Hue lights. It fits perfectly (with a bit of modification) on my 55” Sony A80K OLED TV. It works so well. The entire experience is so much more immersive after adding this to the setup. Highly recommend

It's wonderful streaming and playing video games in a dark room with this. I find myself not wanting to do either until after sundown. Major improvement over the bars.
It was expensive at $200 and it's ridiculously expensive after Philips increased the price to $230. It's also very surprising that we can't program zones via the Hue app.
