I have used Norelco electric shavers for over 5 years. I started with one that only had two cutters rather than three. This is the latest one and it works well as did the others. I have found through the years when I have decided to use a safety razor for shaving (too much work) that a better, closer shave comes from the safety razor, not any electric. That being said... the Norelco 4100 is as good as it gets. Though I will probably seldom use it in the shower, it is possible with this razor and it will likely not be hurt by cleaning under the faucet. I like Norelco and recommend the PowerTouch Cordless Razor.

It's been a while since I purchased a Norelco shaver, as my previous one lasted nearly 20 years.
This appears to be a discontinued model, and only available through select retailers. Best Buy offered it at a very respectable price, and for the $35 plus tax that I paid, I'm extremely pleased with it.
I don't use the built-in trimmer, just the shave heads, but they work very well. This shaver includes a set of Norelco Lift-and-Cut heads, but I did notice that the original replacement sets are no longer available and what they're offering now is single-blade (no Lift-and-Cut). There are third-party options out there, though.
The battery charges fairly quickly (2-3 hours for a full charge), and so far, I've only had to charge it twice since I got it. I haven't measured the actual run time, but I'm comfortable with saying that it's at least close to the stated 50 minutes (good for about 8-12 shaves).
The estimated useful life of the screens and blades is approximately one year. They usually last quite a bit longer than that for me, so this is a much more affordable option than my standard razor from a well-known P&G brand. If I went through one set of blades a month with a standard razor, I'd have to spend about twice as much per year as this Norelco costs (for a marginally closer shave).

I have been an electric shaver user for ManyMany years (RemingtonXLR3000.) The Remington is a foil shaver. It is important for you to understand your individual situation. IMHO if at 5pm your face feels like course sandpaper with steel wool, that can smooth a 2X4, then maybe an electric shaver is not for you. I purchased the Norelco because I could no longer repair the Remington and foils were discontinued [by Remington.] I have used the Norelco one month and the experience has been terrific. I charged it once a week before warning light even came in. I find it takes less time to shave with the Norelco than the old Remington and I get a better shave. Just move the shaver Slowly across your face. I start under one ear SLOWLY move across neck to other ear then up and across face. Then a little extra work on chin. Every few days I pop the top and simply blow out hairs. I haven't had need to "wash it." The trimmer does a great job on my mustache. One pblm I did have- I tried to shave the area between nose and mustache and accidentally shaved half the mustache because one of the 3-cutters was positioned down. I will stay with the excellent pop-up trimmer. IMHO you don't need the floating head shaver. [I purchased spare cutters at WM less expensive.]

I was getting tired spending big $$ on replacement blades for the Schick, and decided I wanted to get back into an electric shaver. I had a Phillips Norelco years ago but it stopped holding a charge after several years use. This unit was the right price and best of all, operates in the shower. The instructions say it can go a week without recharge, but I have been able to go as much as 2 1/2 weeks. The shave is close and quick. I love it.

Lightweight, holds the charge, easy to clean, gives a good clean shave. have not yet tried the wet feature. Had bought one for a son-in-law who does use the wet feature and he loves it and has had it 2 years. Quality, ease of use and the good close shave is the reason for purchasing for self.

Nice razor. I’ve never had any problems. Easy to handle. Very quiet shaver which shaves close and is lightweight. The battery holds up very well. I'm pleased. Ability to use wet or dry is a plus. The flip trimmer keeps the sideburns and nape of neck tidy.

I brought this after secretly envying the same electric razor my husband has used for years. He easily and quickly shaves his face every morning and loves his razor. So since women's electric razors just never get close enough I figured (for the price) I'd give his beloved razor a try, and finally understood. This baby gets the job done, especially around and behind knee and ankle grooves. I can use it in the shower, which is a bonus. Easy to clean and keep sanitized. My razor is red, my hubby's is blue. No mistakingly using each other's razor.
Cost wise, it was the cheapest I found. And I searched upon searched the internet. This razor saves me A LOT on traditional multi-blade razors. I still use them for those days I need the exfoliation of a traditional razor on skin shave.
I'd say this is all around a great buy.

Bought this to replace an old Panasonic foil wet/dry electric shaver. I had switched to the foil from a previous Norelco rotary to see if it was any better. The foil shaver did not cut as well and took much longer.
I started going back to my Mach 3 razor because it was quicker and more efficient.
I bought this on sale over the holidays to use when I travel. This model works even better than my old Norelco. Battery life seems good - I've had about 5 shaves on 1 charge & it hasn't sounded like it's started to fade yet. I'm so glad I switched back. I haven't touched my Mach 3 razors since I've bought this. This shaver is so easy to clean. I haven't used it wet yet but don't see the need.
Very satisfied customer - hope it lasts as long as my old one which I had for over 5 yrs.

The instructions read give this razor three weeks to determine if your getting a optimum shave. Im approaching three weeks and Im getting the best shave Iv ever had. I never been been able to to a close shave on my neck and chin. This razor is awesome. Close shave neck chin, everywhere! I purchased razor because it had so many good reviews. The first thing I noticed is how light the razor is. Like a feather. I used shave foam and got good results. I tried a pre shave lotion and Im getting the best shave Iv ever had. Holds a charge for me Im getting four or five shaves and i shave a good ten minutes every time. So the 50 minute charge is right on. Charged quickly. Very pleased and highly recommend this Philips Norelco razer. Red and black with silver highlights.

I bought this to be my travel shaver. It's compact enough for me to safely carry in my dopp kit. As someone who shaves once a day I haven't had any issues with it cutting me. I'm able to get a nice clean close shave every time. It's nice that it comes with an easy to remove cover so I can store it without the blades heads coming in contact with unwanted things. Being water proof is a definite plus. Maintaining this thing is a breeze. Philips makes quality grooming equipment and this is one of them.
Runs very quiet and is easy to hold and operate. Able to use for many shaves before even having to charge it. It also comes with a rear razor shaver that is good for grooming hair on other parts of the body.

So I have used this brand for years and have had maybe ten of them. They last a long time, give me a great shave and they don't require much care. This one is no exception- gives a great shave, good battery life and is water resistant to boot. Has a nice trimmer, too.

I bought this on sale for $35. This was the first electric shaver I've ever used and as someone who doesn't like shaving everyday with a razor, I was very happy with this. The shave is very comfortable and surprisingly close. It's not quite razor smooth, but it more than makes up for that with it's convenience. I usually use it dry; though I have used it a couple times after splashing water on my face and for me, I prefer doing it dry. I was hesitant about spending big bucks on an electric razor and when this came on sale, I thought it would be a great time to give it a try. Whenever this one goes out, I'll definitely consider spending more to get something even better.
I've been using this shaver for about two weeks.

Like the shower proof case. For a close shave wet face or use shave gel. Good run time on battery. Floating heads adjust to face contours easy. Easy clean up. Fits hand good but it is easy to hit the on/off button with thumb depending on how you grip.
Good shaver and hard to beat the price.
