I have used only on dry skin and not one soaped up although shaver is suppose to be able to shave in dry and wet faces. Does not do well on hair growth of more than one day. Requires mltiple passes over the hair and it still misses about 10% of the hairs. SIdeburn trimmer on Noreleco shavers has been sub-par for about 10 years. I wish they would return to design from 10 years ago.
