This good electric toothbrush. This one does only have one vibration setting on it, which could be a little harsh if you have more sensitive teeth, but it is still working great for me, two years in.

This is my first electric toothbrush. Not sure how I feel about them but so far I can say that this is a powerful toothbrush.

I love my new Philips Sonicare 4100 that I got at Best Buy for a great price. I got it to prevent me from brushing too hard...it senses that, and lets me know by changing vibration. It also has a 2-minute timer that pulses and beeps every 30 seconds to make sure you adequately brush each section of your mouth.

I've used Sonicare toothbrushes for the last 20 years or so, and this model is the best I've used so far. The underlying technology doesn't seem to have changed very much but there have been refinements the the brush heads (which now seem to collect less gunk that the previous models with screw-on heads) and the battery lasts longer (using lithium ion instead of nickel metal hydride) My only complaints with these toothbrushes is that the brush heads seem to wear out faster than the previous models and they seem to need replacing more quickly. This can easily make even the cheap model still somewhat expensive. Wirecutter recommended a Oral-B toothbrush instead of this Sonicare for that reason. I think if you're looking at this toothbrush you should probably check out the Oral-B they recommend (Oral-B Pro 1000) too. If the prices for the toothbrushes are similar the Oral-B might have lower long term costs due to the cheaper brush heads. When this Sonicare dies I might give the Oral B a try.

I've been using Sonicare toothbrushes for about eight years and I can't recommend them enough. I'm fifty-four-years-old and I have one cavity that was filled when I was eighteen. So, clearly, a good toothbrush is important to me, and Sonicare toothbrushes do the best job I think possible. Don't take my word for it; buy one and see for yourself.
