Proof positive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used an earlier version of a Sonicare toothbrush so I have years of experience with them. I would estimate my dental cleanings were reduced from a painful 45 minutess/1 hour to under 35 minutes. That is total time, the biggest time reduction was the amount of time the tech spends scraping tartar. My teeth are visibly cleaner/whiter if I use a whitening toothpaste and my mouth is overall more healthy than before I started using it. The Protective Clean 6100 offers some additional features over my prior model that I think are worth the price. Has 3 speed settings - There is a pressure sensor which gently warns you by pulsing its speed creating a rhythmic sound if you press the toothbrush too hard. . This is not only good for your gums but also helps in making the brush heads (which are expensive) last longer - Brush head replacement reminder indicator. - If you utilize the stock brush head replacements it will automatically select between the 3 available modes (Clean, White or Gum Care). You always however have the option to select the mode manually. These brush heads do come at a cost though. - This model comes standard with the Diamond clean (HX6063/65) chip enabled brush head. Which is really the same brush head as the regular DiamondClean head HX6063/64 with an additional embedded chip - Quadpacer, Li-Ion battery resulting in a slimmer handle than some others. A timer lets you know when your done. - Travel Case is included. I have used mine for two full weeks without charging so travel without the charger is possible. In a world of gimmicky things this turns out to not be one of them. I can't recommend enough replacing your toothbrush with a Sonicare.

Toothbrush stopped working after four months
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After four months of regular use, the toothbrush barely works. Even fully charged, it is not strong enough to clean your teeth and sometimes won't turn on at all. Very disappointed.

A Must For Cleaner and Whiter Teeth...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Philips SoniCare rechargeable toothbrush is a must for cleaner and whiter teeth, and healthy gums. It is super easy to use with a two button configuration. The head seemed a little small at first, but once you get used to it, and use the timer built it, you come away a clean smile.

Best toothbrush you will ever own!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am absolutely grateful that I have had the chance to test this toothbrush out. It is fantastic! The overall appearance is sleek and cool. The carrying case has a cheap feel compared to some of the other Sonicare models. This is not a deal breaker because it is still a quite functional little case. My first brushing was an interesting experience. I would not describe it as a dentist feel but something else more like just a tickling sensation on my gums. Nevertheless, after two or three uses that went away. However, right after the first use the feeling of clean was exquisite. Let me say that again, next to a dental cleaning there is nothing compared to these Sonicare toothbrushes. There are wide varieties of heads but my favorite is the Diamond. The internal timer is a champion and makes me feel like a real adult when I brush for solid two-minutes. The battery does not die, like ever. Seriously, the outside of the box says two weeks and after one week the battery is still as strong as the first initial use preceding the 24-hour first charge. Not much more, I can say other than this is necessary have for anyone.

Technology-based cleaning, even for sensitive gums
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is nice to see that electric toothbrushes have improved over the years with the advancing technology. My last electric toothbrush didn’t do much more than turn on and off. The ProtectiveClean 6100 offers users several useful features to maintain a clean mouth. The toothbrush was fully charged right out of the box, so no need to wait to use it. There was a brush head included in the box that easily attached onto the base. FYI – there’s a microchip in the brush head that syncs with the handle to notify you when you need to replace the brush head. It is suggested replacing it every 3 months. My car fob battery works on a timer and notifies me every 2 years. This toothbrush will track the wear on the brush based on the pressure and amount of time used and notify you based on that. When the reminder light shines amber, that is when you need to get a new brush head. I looked up the cost of replacement brush heads on Bestbuy.com and they run about $50 for 4 replacement heads. PS You can deactivate the brush head replacement reminder… My toothbrush came with a hygienic travel cap, but I was disappointed that my model did not come with the travel case as I do a fair amount of travel for work and pleasure. If you want to change the mode (clean/white/gum care), make sure you turn the toothbrush off first. You cannot change modes while it is on. However, to change the intensity of the bristle movement, you need to do that by pressing the mode button while the unit is on. This toothbrush’s features help to retrain you to optimize your brushing habits. 1. Pressure senor feature - while brushing your teeth, there is a change in vibration and a sound alert you if you are putting too much pressure on your teeth. This feature can be deactivated. 2. Quadpacer feature - this will time you so you are brushing the four sections of your mouth for 30 seconds each section. If you use this function, the toothbrush automatically shuts off after 2 minutes. 3. Easy start feature – this feature is initially deactivated, but you can read how to turn it on in the directions. This feature increases the power over the course of the first 14 brushing to help you get used to using an electric toothbrush. I admit that I have to use this as the vibrating bristles tickle my teeth, making it difficult for me to use it for 30 seconds at a time in some areas. My three downsides are the following 1) if you are not used to an electric toothbrush and your teeth are extra sensitive, you may find it difficult to clean your teeth without the “ticklish” feeling. Not sure if you can return an item like this to the store and get your money back when it isn’t defective and 2) reaching into the back of my mouth on the side where my wisdom are was difficult and 3) the brushes recommended for Clean mode (C2) Gum care (G2) did not come with my box, but it is indicated that other models come with additional brush heads. Make sure the model your purchase comes with what you want to have (additional brushes, travel case), but be prepared to potentially pay more for them. Summing it all up, this is a very good toothbrush that seems to be competitively priced. It offers several helpful features that will keep your teeth clean and white.

Great teeth cleaning, skimps on extras
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro -Excellent cleaning -Long battery, over two weeks between charges -Lots of different head options -Multiple modes and intensities Con -Comes with only one head -Heads are expensive, but that goes for all electric toothbrushes -No travel case ( at least not my package ) -Charging base could be better Overall The Sonicare 6100 does an excellent job in cleaning your teeth. Really gets in the nooks between and almost makes you feel like you don't need to floss. The toothbrush has various modes for cleaning, whitening, and plaque removal. You can select modes manually, but the handle will also automatically switch depending on what kind of brush head you use. The handle also has an internal timer that buzzes every 30 seconds so you can make sure you brush long enough and spend an equal amount of time on each section of your teeth. The battery lasts for a long time between charges ( so far I've gone over two weeks without recharging yet ). Overall, the cleaning performance is quite good. The downsides are more what you don't get in the box. My particular box didn't come with a travel case, though some models do. It also only comes with one brush head, which is disappointing. The charging base is very small, which might be nice for portability, but is not all that useful on the bathroom countertop. It would have been nice if it had slots to hold extra brush heads or something.

Posted .Hi Hawkeyegrad,
Thank you so much for leaving a review for us on here. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with your Sonicare ProtectiveClean toothbrush! If we understand you correctly, your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush is vibrating weakly or less powerful than before? You can view these possible causes and solutions to try and solve this issue yourself.
Some models come with the Easy-start feature activated. The Easy-start feature enables you to increase the vibrations over time to get used to electric brushing. Disable the Easy-start feature to increase the vibrations. You can find detailed instructions in the user manual that came with your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush to deactivate the Easy-start feature.
Furthermore, the vibrations of your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush weaken as the battery runs out. Fully charge your toothbrush to increase vibrations. It can take up to 24 hours to fully charge your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush. Be sure to use the original charger that came with your toothbrush.
Lastly, older brush heads can seem less effective or powerful while brushing. We recommend you to replace your brush head after 3 months of use.
