    I like these speakers, however they should be installed if using an amplifier. It turns out that even my Pioneer avh-2700bs is too underpowered to run these speakers. Looks like I'm going to be getting an amp soon

    Installed these speakers in the front, of my '02 Avalanche and they sound great. The sound is really clean and crisp. The mid's and high's are very nice. The bass is adequate. However, if you are looking for booming bass, you will need to use an amp. Also, in my case, I had to drill the speaker mounting holes in the doors. However, the install was pretty straightforward and easy.

    I am currently shopping for my 4th pioneer system. Two in my cars, and this will be the second for my son. I put these speakers in my car about 6 months ago, and I'm going to put them in my sons truck now because I love them so much. Great sound quality for any kind of music. No ghetto rattle. Pioneer has always been the car audio brand I buy, and Cliff, the installer at the Clarksville Indiana best buy, has installed the 3 systems in 3 different cars for me. And he will be installing this one, too!

    No base and buying a three way speaker was not worth the money. Buy a quality two way or component speaker system. Perhaps paired with a subwoofer these might sound ok.
