    This was a great choice of a product to put in my 2002 GMC Sierra. When I get into my vehicle, I’m hands-free with my phone.

    Radio works fine. They broke my center console installing Radio. Job was so bad i ask them how to remove parts so i could re aline parts. Terrible.

    Garbage product, garbage customer service

    Less than a year & the unit malfunctioned. The Best Buy technician told me it needed to be replaced & gave me the option to warranty it with Pioneer directly - returning it to Best Buy for the warranty was not an option. So he could leave the defective unit installed or uninstall it & leave a gaping hole in my dash while I fight Pioneer to warranty their garbage product. I felt forced into purchasing a new unit, which I did. I have been running in circles with Pioneer for 2 months, unable to make contact with any human being to warranty the product that conveniently will fall out of warranty in 12 days. I do not recommend Pioneer & I do not recommend Best Buy for your car audio purchases/installations.

    Great Radio

    Overall the radio works perfectly. It has the CarPlay feature which I really wanted, and works well 2, and also has SiriusXM compatibility which is awesome as well. Recommend buying it while on sale and getting the free installation that geek squad gives you.

    Simply … I love it! It pairs well with my iPhone. I previously had an older radio with disc player. This is definitely an upgrade for me. The radio gets excellent reception. I adjusted speaker settings and now now enjoy a better base experience.

    Do Not Buy There is a Problem With These Units

    I brought 1 of these units back in October 2021. I liked it so much I brought 2 more to install in my other vehicles. 2 of the units stopped working after about 5 months. They freeze up on a white screen and then have to be sent in for repair to Pioneer. 1 of the units has been back twice already. $30 shipping to California and without a radio for 3 weeks. There is clearly a problem with this model. If you do a little research online you'll find others with the exact same problem. I would like Pioneer to offer me a full refund on all 3 units. They have refused.

    Made Stock Speakers Worse

    Unhappy with this head unit. Maybe silly, but I thought a lot of the apps (you see on the box) were pre-installed, or Pioneer had an app you could use to download and customize what apps you wanted, but no. You have to have your phone plugged in, at all times, to use Android Play or CarPlay in order to get those features. If you don't want to do that, you can use bluetooth to listen to music or answer calls, but you'll be messing with your phone to do anything. Defeating the purpose of this head unit. FYI: Pioneer has a really dumb safety feature. In order to use some features ex. Mirroring (which I CANNOT GET TO WORK) you have to triggered the emergency brake three times in order for those features to work. Stupid. I think putting it in park should suffice. You can put in a micro bypass to trick the HU to thinking you did that, buuuuut that’s on you. Also, you can't use your stock MIC, you need to use the aftermarket. Mine is currently on the steering column, which I really hate. The tech explained why, and I understood his point, but I like a clean look and this looks cheap. From reading reviews, prior to install, usually head units improve stock speakers, but not in my case. This HU made stock speakers sound worse. It sounds like my tweeters are doing all the work and they sound clear, but the back door speakers sound quiet and not a crisp sound either. It doesn't sound like the sound is distributed equally. Also, it sounds like the bass checked out, almost muffled. So when I change the Balance/Fader to the rear they sound quiet compared to the front. The front is harder to tell because the door and dash speakers are close together, and the F/B plays them together. I brought it up to the install techs, later that day, but they assured me it sounded fine. However, they listened in a garage with the doors open, music up. That will give you a different sound reverberation/acoustics vs being in the truck driving the road. FYI to techs to keep in mind. They were nice, respectful, and told me they “wanted me to be happy” but said it sounded like every other Chevy with the cheap paper stock speakers. For me personally though, I'm not going out to spend more money on speakers to improve the sound. Especially if I don't know that will even work. I'd rather return the HU. They also informed me HU don’t change sound quality but I disagree. I bought this as a gift for my husband and I feel bad because he can tell the sound isn't right, so I know it’s not me. I I wish I had a recording of my stock 13ChevySil no nav, no Bose HU prior to install, because I have no reference of the sound beside knowing it’s not right. Not sure if the stock HU had a better AMP or what. I think the worst part is you don't know how these things are going to go/sound until you get it installed, but at that point you're stuck with it. So now that I invested time and money we're stuck with a HU that made the sound quality worse. This isn’t a dig at the Techs. They were informative and respectful and maybe don't deal with this "specific" issue, but I know that it’s changed and that’s what sucks. If I had the knowledge to go through the wiring to narrow down the issue, I’d fix it myself, but who knows if that’s even the issue. Could be a wire not tight. Could be the harness that's faulty. Who knows. Note: this HU is attached to a PAC RP5-GM31.

    A must have stereo for a modern look!

    I absolutely love my stereo. I have a 2011 Toyota 4Runner and I wanted to upgrade to something more modern. The dash kit and stereo gives my Toyota a cleaner and more current look than the factory one it came with. The sound is incredible and it’s so easy to use. I know longer have to have all these cords. CarPlay is amazing!

    Malfunctioning pioneer screen of death..

    About the product 8 months ago. About a month ago started to get a issue with the screen turning white or it will freeze up on the end NEX loading screen. It will not go to the next stage and it will not play music at all. Told Best buy about the issue they gave me the runaround they wouldn't even take a look at the at the radio. I will never buy a pioneer product ever again nor by anything from Best buy.. I had a horrible experience and I'm stuck with a pioneer radio that does not work...

    easy to install i did need to use a knife to cut the bezzle back a little because the radio is bigger then the stock hole but it works great touch screen responsive remote works well since car doesnt have wheel controls

    I had purchased this to upgrade from my older pioneer deck. I was pretty confident about my purchase and when I got it I had it installed. Shortly after the deck started to experience Bluetooth loss. The same effect when you get too far from your Bluetooth speaker. Happened several times after and I decided to invest in a different brand. I purchased the Kenwood deck from Best Buy last month and I enjoy it. Thank you.

    Stopped working after 18 months

    Worked great until it didn’t. Unit stared rebooting randomly about a year after purchase, then died completely after 18 months (see photo). I went to Geek Squad and the best they could offer was to send it to Pioneer for repair, since I didn’t have the protection plan. I decided to buy a similar Sony model, instead of opting for repair since repairs would cost ME money (I was not going to let Pioneer waste my money twice). I was HAD, because I remember Pioneer being a good brand in the 80s and 90s. Stay away from this product. Read the one star reviews. I don’t think they are a dependable brand anymore.

    Worked for a few weeks. Disconnects all the time, goes to a black screen and then a white screen with colored vertical lines. Disconnects from my battery overnight. I was warned by the Best Buy installer of the problems and didn't listen. Not even the regular radio will stay on.
