I've got it in a 2007 Vette with the original Bose speakers and it breathed new life into it!

The factory dimmer cannot dim the display of the radio. I would suspect the orange/white wire, for illumination, is getting inconsistent voltage when you do the adjustment on the display.
I would suggest having the installer check the connections again.

Works well at a decent price

Free best buy install is fantastic. Great for using google maps. Must better than looking at a phone for directions. Helps me keep my eyes on the road. Siri works great too
