Device: This head-unit replaced the stock JBL Synthesis Navigation head-unit on my 2006 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited and integrated with kits to the stock backup camera, steering controls and built-in JBL receiver. The larger floating screen has really elevated the driving experience and given the vehicle a more modern look. If your Sienna is in decent shape and you use an iPhone, I strongly recommend this upgrade. My primary purpose was Wireless Apple Carplay and this unit provides a good balance betwen cost, performance and display size. With my iPhone 13 Pro, Carplay connects wirelessly within 10 to 15 seconds of starting the car. The Backup camera is hardwired so is available immediately on putting in reverse. By the time I am done backing up, Navigation is usually up and running automatically. I lost the wireless connection a couple of times in 1.5 months. In the 1st instance, connecting the phone via the provided USB cable fixed it. In the 2nd, I had to go to head-unit settings and re-select the paired phone. Bottomline, Carplay connection is pretty stable. Since this was integrated directlly into the built-in JBL receiver, it is driving all the 10 factory speakers including the sub. Sound quality is good - about same or slightly better than original, but I can't tell much as the vehicle has a lot of road and wind noise. Audio from phone calls is actually much better! I have no way to verify, but I “think” the OEM setup was sending sound to driver side speaker and the this head-unit is pushing it through the center channel on the dash. The quality of the OEM mike on this car was pretty bad, sadly, the wired mike that came with this head-unit is about the same. Setting iPhone "voice isolation" helps a bit. Best Buy experience: I am REALLY satisfied with the Best Buy experience. Installation was done by Geek Squad at their store in Milpitas, CA. The out of door cost was competitive and better than mom/pop stores. The order was taken by Brad and installation was done by Chris and Darren. All three were pleasant and really knowledgable. I am a picky customer and both Chris and Darren were really accomodating with my exacting needs. Since this is a really old car, I noticed how careful they were to avoid breaking anything. A few days after installation, I noticed the speaker on driver’s side door wasn’t working. Chris figured out that the speaker cable was broken where it enters the door and fixed it with just a half-hour labor charge. They hadn’t touched that area during the install, so I am sure it was broken for a while, but I was impressed that they didn’t get defensive when I bought it up. The real test of customer service is after sales support and I rate this as excellent customer service. I had also noticed that sometimes, Google Maps would swing around widely when passing through intersections, even when I was headed straight. Chris and Darren were kind enough to relocate the head-unit’s GPS antenna from top of the unit, to the top of the speedometer hump (both under the dashboard). This seems to have helped a bit, but I think this may be a Google Maps issue. This was covered for free with the extended warranty. The true experience with a vendor is when you need after-sales service and I am VERY satisifed. If you can find a convenient Best Buy installation service near you, I strongly recommend both purchase, installation, and their extended warranty.

Short review. My opinion and experience. Here are the positives. 1. Product looks great. 2. Sound is fantastic. 3. The UI is nice. 4. The fitting is clean on my dash. The Cons 1. Unit not worth the $699. (I got it open box for like $304) 2. Theres too much glare but I don't mind. 3. The unit goes silent. It only happens when Im on Clubhouse wich is and audio app. I close app and try to play music from Apple but no sound. I have to turn car off. Annoying.

Have been using this radio for a year and it’s great. The automatic link to my phone, the buttons haven’t given out and the screen is a decent size for navigation.

The Pioneer 9'' Digital Media (DM) receiver is a fantastic option for car stereo upgrades. The product was installed in an older model truck to enable more Apple CarPlay, and I also added a backup camera. There are two potential downsides to this product. First, it changed all the chimes for opening the door to forgetting the seatbelt, and I'm not fond of the noise. Second, the Pioneer rarely gets stuck on increasing the volume for voice instead of increasing the volume for music, but it has only happened once.

This is better than anything available from the dealer and cheaper, a quality install made it even better. Purchased for my wife, easy to operate and connects easily and wirelessly. Would recommend to all my family members.

I bought this for my 2012 f250. I used the Metra Dash kit (99-58150 and PAC RP4-FD11 ford oem harness adaptor and steering wheel control interface. It looks great and replaced my old OEM double din stereo. Has some limited abilities to add low pass filters on your front speakers but that isnt a deal breaker. Works great.

Grabbed this for my 1984 Chevy K5 Blazer because it is single din and the face can be positioned in a custom way that fits into my dash etc. It works great! I daisy-chained the tweeters on top of the dash and the foot kick panel speakers for the front channels. The 6x9's in the back walls close to the tailgate are the "middle channels" and the two compact Kicker 8 inch subs are under the two front seats and it all sounds KILLER! Very impressed and loving the quality of the sound and the controls.

The radio is impressive, as is the screen. Is it worth $700, I'm finding it hard to say yes. I wanted a backup camera unit to be able to connect/watch my boat trailer. It has the ability to have front and back camera's and that portion works very well. I had the Geek squad install but after two trips to the servicing store, the wi-fi still is not functioning properly so that I can utilize all the apps.

I put this head unit in my 2008 Avalon and i love it. It has changed my whole music experience along with the operating of my phone. This head unit literally brought the audio system into current time and expectations. With Bluetooth connectivity, Apple Car Play are must in today’s world. And the size of the screen allows ease of use. Video also is clean and clean on the screen. Great purchase for me.

A good upgrade from the stock radio unit. I upgraded the unit in my 2013 toyota tacoma and the larger screen, plus the added functionality of android auto, makes this a great choice. Just know you will have to buy a seperate harness for added control of the steering wheel buttons. Though that is almost a must as the unit only has touch screen controls which might be difficult to use while driving.

Pioneer Upgrade for my truck went flawless. As I had used pioneer previously this was easy install. The large 9” screen makes it even better

The unit works fine and screen size is great. My only complaint is although the description for open box said some parts missing, it would have been good to know what parts. In this case the power harness was missing and I had to order a generic one off Amazon. The problem with this is that some of the wire colors were different from the original and so it took a bit of time to figure out. Also one of the RCA plugs for audio had a broken wire to the pin on the pioneer side. This was an issue since I was using an amp. I would suggest Best Buy to have a car audio tech review the open box products so that this type of information can be placed on the description vs a vague “some parts missing” Especially the broken RCA wire. Luckily I was a mobile electronics installer myself and so this didn’t take me long to fix, however most people would struggle and or return the item back because of these issues. We would bench test returned items and confirm what was working or not and or what was missing from the box. It truly doesn’t take long to do.

Beautiful screen, connects flawlessly to my Android phone. Easy to navigate. Installed in a 2007 Tundra.

The guys working in audio are pros, helped me with what I needed and what I didn’t. I had no idea you could put a touchscreen and back up camera for this little money, I think the 3800nex just came out this year and I love it. I had them put some pioneer speakers in the back and it all sounds amazing, all the other touchscreens are the size of an iPhone max, seemed like a moot point, go big or go home and let these pros in car audio do the heavy lifting, I think this radio has free install. It’s a win win.

Purchased this head unit for my f150. Pioneer has always been the leader in the industry for producing good head units. The 9” display really made a big difference. Not only does this head unit look cool it’s packed with a bunch of features. I would definitely buy this head unit again.

I had this head unit installed in my 2010 Camaro 2SS by Best Buy. Overall, I'm pleased with the HU, as I was looking to upgrade in order to have Android Auto for access to on-screen navigation and to stream music apps. I will say there has been a bit of a learning curve in utilizing the functions of the HU, even though my SUV has Android Auto (through USB connection). While it was fairly easy to figure out some functionality (i.e. how to switch from the radio to Spotify), I've had to spend some time figuring out others. It would be nice if Pioneer put out more user videos on how to maximize all of the functionality of the HU. I feel it may be able to do more than what I've discovered, but maybe not. The sound quality of my stereo speakers does seem to be a bit enhanced, which is good. I also had a back-up camera installed a few weeks after the HU install, since my Gen5 Camaro didn't have one. Very good picture quality.

Very nice stereo, bright screen that you can change the colors, easy to connect with your phone and a lot of preloaded apps. The touch screen is very responsive.

Great product. My only negative thing to say is, you guys need to stop over pricing everything you guys sell, then drop it down to it's normal price, as if we're getting a good deal. How is that not illegal???

So far we love it! Quality is great. Works so much better than our old radio that didn't have Bluetooth or a screen.
