bought this for my uncle and he likes it. He wanted something for his phone to connect using apps and loves the phone holder, that holds his phone. He loves thatbit uses the navigatiom from his phone through the stereo. Has no cd player just uses your phone by blutooth.

First let me say that it works really great it has a great feature that literally adjust the music for you on each speaker so that it gives you the best possible sound and it does it automatically and it changes between songs so that if one second you listening to a rock ‘n’ roll song gives you the better quality to listen to that type of music and then of the next song is more of a hip-hop song it automatically adjust for some thing with more bass . The app itself that you have to download while using this head unit it’s really cool it allows you to jump back-and-forth between different streaming services so I have to give it to pioneer not a bad concept whatsoever. Now for the stuff that well to be completely honest that’s not allowing me to give it five stars, the volume button.,,, in order to turn down the volume button you have to keep pressing it it’s not one of those were you just hold it down and it automatically goes back to zero which is a little annoying. Also the cradle that holds the phone does not charge wirelessly . Also the app could use some easier displays for switching too different sections…. As for the price a can’t complain whatsoever….

Great, innovative product - Surprised that this is the only reciever of it's kind. The Convenience of the phone dock and Android/Apple Connectivity in a smart, slim Single DIN unit is great. Connects easily and can instantly give a vintage car modern connectivity without looking super obnoxious, or costing an arm & leg. Very good build quality as well and sounds good.
I'm not sure what "Super Tadoraki" sound is, but turn it on "Super High"(very Japanese) and it makes my 38 year old speakers sound surprisingly decent.
AII in all, this unit is a gamechanger for older cars at a very reasonable cost and smart form factor.

I think this could have been a great stereo, but the choices Pioneer made makes it pretty good for what it is.
Pros:
- Good sound quality. Definite improvement (with stock speakers) over my low-end factory stereo, and the equalizer is very effective.
- Good user interface. Simple physical buttons on the stereo face, simple layout of the app on the phone screen.
- Ability to increase the gain on the Bluetooth source, so it's roughly equalized with the radio.
- Very good phone cradle: sturdy, secure, easy to rotate from landscape to portrait and vice-versa. I particularly like being able to use Google Maps in portrait mode.
- I like the overall physical setup, with a single-DIN stereo that gives me an extra storage spot, and a built-in phone cradle (esthetically more pleasing than one that's connected to the dash or windshield of blocking an air vent).
Cons:
- The voice assistant in the Pioneer app is useless: when I tell it to call someone it either doesn't hear me at all or it doesn't understand me, over and over again. When it finally understood me, it spelled "Allan" as "Allen" and couldn't find the contact in my phone book. Google Assistant works fine through the microphone, so it's not a mic issue.
- Messages through the Pioneer app are useless for me: the only options I have for messaging apps are Facebook and Viber; where the hell is Messages, the built-in Android messaging app?
Overall, I like it, I'm keeping it, but I'm playing with using it in conjunction with Android Auto on my phone to get the most out of it.

Only gave it a 4 star because the phone tray can only be pulled off if the face is off.
Also the phone holder doesn't clear my dash for my honda s2000 so I am unable to use it. But is the cleanest single din in my opinion

This unit is all you could ask for! I knew the CES reviews of the unit were good, I liked the idea of a phone clamp, I found out I love the app that controls the unit! Pioneer hit it out of the park with it. I have an i11 and it works great. The sound controls let me tailor the sound how I want with some good presets built in. Decent power with clean sound. Installed in a 1992 Ranger extended cab with JBL’s front and rear

While the receiver itself delivers great sound as you would expect from pioneer. The face plate is removable for security reasons I assume. To remove the the face plate you simply push on it and it pops off. The problem is that every control on the unit is push as well, so your driving and need to make a volume adjustment, push the volume button and off pops the faceplate. Every big bump I go over also sends the faceplate shooting off. The manual says to avoid dropping the faceplate but it pops off when I'm driving & it falls to the floor. It has been installed for 3 days and it hate it already. I read that best buys does free installs if you buy a receiver over $100 nut that was never mentioned to me at time of purchase. Had to self install ran into a snag or two had to get pro help and now I am past the allowable return period. I just spent a considerable amount of money on an item I truely hate & I cannot return. The best buy salesman recommended this unit to me. I wish I would have gone with the one I was leaning toward, I gave the salespersons recommendation too much merit. I am completely disappointed in best buy's customer service overall.

Hey for the price this is a really nice unit. I needed a single din for my old corvette and wanted the iPhone features so this unit fit the bill. The only knock is the placement of the USB port, I have a short cable that is rolled up but it blocks the volume up button when plugged into the docked phone. Sound quality is pretty good as I mated it with pioneer speakers.

I have a single din opening in my car and wanted a radio that was capable of bluetooth calling and display google maps for travel. This fit the bill perfectly. When I don't need the google maps, the phone holder neatly folds away and it looks like a normal radio. When I am following google maps, I pull out the phone holder and my phone connects wirelessly to give me the visual map and verbal directions over my cars speakers. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Overall sound quality is good with plenty of control with equalizers. Cell phone holder part is pretty clunky in my opinion and sends my phone flying if not in the holder just right. Also you have to remove the faceplate to push the holder in or take it out. Not crazy about the stereo but I'll live with it

After reading older reviews where people had issues with Bluetooth connectivity I was concerned. But I have not had one single issue with that. Also just make sure your firmware is up to date.
Sounds great and really like the interface on my iPhone. The cradle easily accommodates an iPhone max and small case.
