I was looking for a work-around for my SD slot not working since I upgraded Windows - this worked well and for a decent price.

Had no problem plugging in to USB port. Windows 8 identified reader and had no problem using it.

Nice that it is USB 3.0. Covers most formats except for XQD

This reader lives up to USB 3 expectations. When used with fast flash memory cards, the read / write performance is amazing!

I feel like I might've got a dud out of the mix. Stupid thing keeps disconnecting itself when I'm trying to transfer pictures from my CF card to my computer or phone. And this is a replacement one for the 2.0 Insignia reader I had before, so I'm assume it's cheap materials. Works great when I can get it to go though!

Needed this for work and this connected to our PCs easily and allowed us to download data from CPAP machines smartcards.

Pros: ease of use and much needed. Very helpful to display pictures and videos on tv right away after shoot. Cons: None

I bought this card reader to solve a problem I noticed with my camera's transfer of pics over USB. When copying images off of my camera's CF card via a cable directly connected to the camera, sometimes images would be lost or corrupted. When looking into the issue I read that it's generally a better idea to use a standalone card reader, than to copy from the camera. I decided to buy this reader, because it uses USB 3.0 (fast) and accepts the cards I use, such as CF, SD, and micro SD. (And also some other types of cards I don't currently use.) I noticed you can even connect two cards at once and read from them both at the same time. I am not sure that this is officially supported, and the transfer rates drop significantly when copying off of two cards at once. In general it's probably better to just copy from one card at a time. When transferring from one card at a time this reader is fast and reliable. It is also fairly small so it's easy to bring with my camera bag in case I need to transfer images when I'm out. I've copied from cards used in my H4n audio recorder, my 7d mkii DSLR, and my GoPRO HERO 3+ Black. No issues at all so far.

Rather than fumble around back of my iMac, I have this plugged in 24/7. It makes putting an SD card into the machine easier!

I'm a photographer so I use a lot of memory cards. This is perfect for getting my photos on the computer to edit. Great!

My 11" PC laptop does not have a built in SD slot. This card reader works great. I have not had any trouble with it.
