    This reader overall is a fine device. It read my card when I plugged it into my iMac and reached nicely onto my desktop. The cord is a bit thick and stiff so it annoyingly doesn't lay flat on my desktop and the second time I put an SD card into the reader it would not read on my computer.

    I use both CF and SD cards. The Insignia Reader transfers data from the SD cards to my computer very quickly. Transfers from Compact Flash cards are very slow. An older Firewire card reader is much faster than this supposed USB 3 device. I would recommend against buying this if you use CF cards.
