Great For The Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, it works when it wants to work. Have not tried it with a mac but on PC's, it usually will come on after a couple replugging. Overall it is great for its price.

SD card reader serves its purpose
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed a 2nd SD card reader and settled for this one. What we were looking for was a single slot to hold our photo SD cards which plugs directly into the USP slot.

Ok performing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to read compact flash cards. This device performs slower than I expected being a USB3.0 device. I found transfer speeds slower than my other USB2.0 devices.

card media reader good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia card reader works great for reading and downloading one's photos. It transfers the images quickly and correctly. However, the first time I tried to use it, the instructions failed to tell me that you must insert the card "upside down" when holding the card reader upright with the INSIGNIA logo on the top which is the way I assumed it should be placed in hand or on some surface. Only when inserting it "upside down" will the card reader read it and download the images.

Card reader is fast, but a poor design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works fine. But the stiff electrical cord attaches on the front of the reader instead of coming out the back so it is all over the desk instead of smoothly coming out the back. And the SD card slot is right next to it Awkward...so can't turn it around. I would think that the SD card slot would be the one most used..and logically would be on the opposite side of where the cored plugs in. .If I had known it was confirgured this way I would not have bought it

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just plug in and insert card. Would be a 5 star item but on my pc if I leave unit plugged in at start up the pc will take 10x longer to boot up

Insanely fast card reader
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this card reader because my old one was malfunctioning. Normally I would take the time to read reviews online and compare models to make an educated decision but I needed a card reader immediately so I picked this one up at Best Buy after comparing what they had on the shelf. I must say I am very happy with the performance. I have used it to download images shot on a Canon 5D Mark III , both RAW files from the Compact flash card and jpegs from the SD card. This is the fastest card reader I have owned . No issues so far.

Wish they had two options
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To bad this was the only card reader they had. It would have been a great review if the metal pins that plug into the memory card didn't bend. I used it once and it worked like a charm. Took the 1st card out, and went to insert the 2nd one and the metal pins bent. Once the pins bent, I could not straighten them out. Looks like this one is going back to the store. Will look for a different brand

Works intermittently, but mostly doesn't work.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this USB 3.0 card reader to replace a USB 2.0 unit for speed reasons due to larger file sizes from my newer camera. I have found it to be problematic at best and non-functional at times. I took it back to exchange it at my local store but was told it was out of the return period, and that it had no warranty by the customer service desk person. Surprised, I went over and picked one off the shelf which showed a 1 year warranty on the box. The agent blamed her computer for the error but said I had to go through insigniaproducts.com for warranty work since she could not help me. Reading the warranty information on the website I found instructions to return the item to a Bestbuy store for service. You can imagine how I feel about the situation now. Is this "customer service" the norm or have I found a person in need of training or in the wrong position? A curt "have a nice day" as I was walking away was truly unacceptable. This is not an expensive item but I expect it to work as described and when a problem arises I would expect a courteous, knowledgeable individual to be there to help, this was not what I experienced today.

overpriced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.worked fine, but I found similar on Amazon for half the price - so why pay BBY's inflated price? I returned it.

Cable is on the same side as SD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.USB 3.0 does in fact transfer faster than the built in card reader. The plan was to mount this in a good spot with double sided sticky tape. The problem is that the cable plugs in the same side as the SD card. This makes it impractical to mount how I wanted. Not it just sits with the other clutter on the desk and drives the better half crazy. So, this card reader makes my GF dislike me.

Perfect for what I needed.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What else can I really say about this card reader besides it did exactly what I needed it to. That's a lie, I do have more. It's USB 3.0! Fast transfer speeds, as long as your computer supports it. Many inputs for many card types, I personally use the compact flash and SD card slots. Really solid metal body build quality and a strong cable come with it. It's also a nice slimline size. Perfect for a laptop or camera bag. 10/10 would buy again.

Works, but clumsy design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The reader functions just fine as far as moving data from a various cards to a computer, but the shape and port placement are frustratingly awkward, particularly if SD is your most used format (it's on the back next to the USB cable). I promptly bought a much better designed reader and threw this in the bottom of my bag for emergency use only.

It's ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No noticeable increase in speed of transfer from the 2.0. Weird configuration to insert CF.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was great concept but i think with all the new tech now its not necessarily needed.
