    For anyone who uses a flash card for their cameras this is definitely better than plugging the camera into the laptop it's self.

    My computer has USB 3.0, but only read memory cards directly via 2.0. With this item, the computer now transfers the pictures much faster.

    The reader is USB 3.0 so it is fast (as long as you have a USB 3.0 port). It will work on older USB 2.0 ports older computers will have.
