Brother-in-law likes it a lot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this as a gift for my brother-in-law. He uses it for running and wanted a heart rate monitor (and hear rate zone targets) and to track calories burned. He has told us that it works very well for his needs and appears to give accurate results. It doesn't offer advanced GPS functions so there is no accounting for distance which would be a negative for some. There are lots of more advanced watches that will monitor this albeit generally more expensive. As with most things, it depends on what is needed for the price.

Not pleased at all!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed in this fitness watch. I was always getting an error message telling me to check my heart rate transmitter. I had to stop my workout to adjust the strap and monitor that is worn around the chest. This would be a great watch if you didn't workout and sat still. I returned it and purchased something much better suited for my needs.

Not what I was looking for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a watch type monitor. This requires a chest strap (included) to work. I did not want that.

was not accurate
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it did not get a pulse reading that was accurate. one reading would be 110 and the next instant 85 then 95. i could not use it. I would also have to stop walking and press the bottom three or four times before I got a reading. The purpose was to record my pulse while exercising not after I stopped.

Not very useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The heart rate goes up way too much or way too low. I feel it does not reflect my actual heart rate because sometimes i feel it should be highly accelerated but it shows a low number and other times when i do not feel as accelerated the number shows 200+.

Fantastic HR monitor, lousy web/app support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a fitbit zip for a few years and LOVE the interface. I figured Polar would have something similar, at least a Bluetooth app for the iPhone. It turns out there's an app, but there's no way for this watch or HR monitor to sync with it unless you buy the $80 H6 or H7 HR monitor (this one comes with an H1 HR monitor). There's a cable that you can purchase, separately ($22), to sync your data to your computer. And actually, I don't even know if this model will support it, because I'm not sure where to find that information. I don't think I'm going to return this, because I really needed a HR monitor to track my fitness and running goals, and don't really have the extra $80 to shell out on a Garmin Forerunner, but...I wish I had known ahead of time that there was no real support or way to visualize and track your data without having to buy a whole slew of new accessories. As for the basic watch and HR monitor that it is, it's fantastic so far. I'd give it a 5 star rating if I could track like I do my fitbit. Very accurate and the HR monitor band doesn't seem terribly uncomfortable.

Best HRM I've Ever Tried
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this HRM in December 2014 and so far I love it. It is more accurate than the FitBit I had purchased a few months before. After a week of trying the polar FT7 i purchased a second one for my boyfriend and he loved it as well. It is very comfortable. You don't even notice the strap and it notifies you during the workout whether you are working on 'fitness' or if you are in your 'fat burning' stage.

NOT a pedometer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Due to the arthritis in my ankle, I cannot walk for exercise. I ride my exercise bike in the winter and my Trek bike in the warmer months. The FT7 has all the features I need to set my goals - fat burning , exercise, heart rate. It's easy to set up and use. The other models are more for runners or walking exercise.

Good product, and great improvements
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had two previous models of Polar HRM, and this one is the best, yet. It has very intuitive controls, and the batteries can be easily replaced on both the transmitter and watch! Very happy so far.

Excellent HR Monitor Watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really pleased with this HR monitor watch. Being a woman, I wanted something sturdy yet not so big it dominated my arm. This fits the bill - very adjustable size wize (both the watch and the chest strap). I am average height, but carry most of my weight in my stomach. The chest strap fits very comfortably to me, and the new feature of being able to simply wet the cloth contacts is great (I was used to the old school hard plastic contacts). According to the product information, you can actually wash the chest strap in the washer - haven't tried it yet. Fairly easy to use once you get used to which button controls which feature. Advice - when you are setting the watch up for the first time, have the manual in front of you. I accidentally deleted my settings the first few times. Using the watch while jogging and walking is very easy - the screen is much easier to read than other products I have tried. I was most interested in tracking heart rate, calories burned, and some basics of how I was working out in the fat burning and fitness zones. This watch does a great job with that - after you complete a workout it produces a simple summary of total cals burned, how many minutes you spent in far burn vs fitness, and your average heart rate. I am sure hard core runners want something more than tracks mileage, but I tried a watch like that and found it too cumbersome. Since I am merely using this for fitness, it works perfectly.

Good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been working out most of my life. Recently started using my heart rate as a guide to my workouts, and feel that I am much more productive. This heart monitor is a good one. Easy to use, and syncs with every aerobic machine that I've been on. May be able to get less expensive models, but I am very pleased with this one.

Best Heart Rate Monitor I Have Used So Far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Accurately displays heart rate, calories burned, and workout duration. Does what it is supposed to do well. I also purchased the Polar Flowlink so I can transfer data from the FT7 and I can easily track my workout progress on my PC. This monitor helps me stay motivated to keep my heart rate up for the duration of my workout. The only improvement I would like to see is the chest strap design, as it is a little annoying at times. I would definitely buy this again and I would recommend to a friend or family member.

Very Easy to Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to help my cardio activity at the gym. The sensor fits very comfortably around my chest, and transmits to all the cardio equipment at the gym. It keeps me from having to grip the heart grips while working out, and is much more accurate than the hand grips anyway. It also helps having the records made of all my workouts in addition to the cardio. It only takes a little bit of information, and it tracks all your activity very easily.

you get what you pay for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this watch for about a year and a half now, while it has been useful, I wish I had invested something better. I love how it stores your workouts and calculates your average heart rate and the various heart rate data from your workout. However, through comparing data and talking with others who have used the same watch, the calculation of the calories burned is lower compared to other monitors (which isn't always a bad thing). The heart rate information itself is very accurate. However the battery life sucks. I find myself changing the chest strap battery way too often and doesn't get the battery life that polar advertises. I have also found that the signal between the chest strap and watch is randomly disconnected, it's worse when it's time to replace the battery in the chest strap (which is expected) but I'm always finding that it's disconnecting and reconnecting in the middle of a workout.

Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was amazed to find out the accuracy of the heart rate monitor! I work in a hospital and hooked up to our heart rate monitor while wearing the watch and chest strap and it was the exact same!! Very impressed!!!

Awsome heart rate monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this monitor as a gift. I own one too. It works flawlessly. The display is large and easy to read. The set was very simple. The works out results can be uploaded to Polars web site. This simplifies the tracking the workouts. We have used the monitors for 5 weeks. The monitor and we site make determining how hard we are training on a daily basis and over time very easy.

I love this product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this device, and could never consider going to the gym without it! I really like the way it syncs with the the Elliptical and Treadmill so I don't have to continue to look at the watch to see my heart rate. I have noticed that the rate of calorie burn is way different on the device then on whatever piece of equipment I'm using. The watch seem very stingy with handing out calories. I also have the Polar Loop and realized that it's the same way. So, now I'm wondering if the gym equipment is wrong??
