FT7 Men's Heart Rate Monitor
Q: Does it come with a transmitter, or, must one be purchased separately?
A: Mike - The FT7 does indeed come with a transmitter. - Mike @ Polar USA
A: FT7 is suitable for swimming and it is water resistant as long as buttons are not pressed under water. FT7 uses GymLink frequency, which can transmit signals also in water. When measuring heart rate in water, you may experience interference because: The ECG signal strength is individual and may vary depending on the your tissue composition. Problems occur more frequently when measuring heart rate in water than when measuring is done on land. Pool water with high chlorine content and seawater are very conductive. Sensor electrodes can short-circuit in these conditions preventing ECG signal detection. Jumping into water or strenuous muscle movement during competitive swimming may shift the sensor on your body where ECG signals aren't detected. If you swim in salt water or highly chlorinated water, or have repeated challenges measuring heart rate for swimming, consider using the T31c heart rate sensor.e
Q: Does this monitor work for swimming?
A: David -Yes, you can use both the watch and chest strap in the water. When using it in the water, you'll want to pull the chest strap tighter to the body to help minimize the volume of water that gets between you and the strap - Mike @ Polar USA
Q: Does this watch have interval timers?
A: The FT7 does not have interval timers. Depending on your needs, I might recommend either Polar's A300 or M400 models. Both of these units will offer the user to create phased interval workouts (via Polar's 'Flow' web service). - Mike @ Polar USA
Q: Does the HR strap transmit in Bluetooth 4.0 or LE?
A: No, the chest strap that comes with the FT7 does not communicate on Bluetooth. You do have an option of securing the 'H7' heart rate sensor as a separate accessory and use it with both the FT7 watch and a app running at the same time on your phone - Mike @ Polar USA
Q: Does the watch also work with the F7 chest strap heart rate montor?
A: The watch is a F7 and it works with the chest strap it came with.
Q: does polar have a watch that displays currant time and heart rate on the same screen ? model # ?
A: Tommy - The FT series has a feature dubbed 'heart touch' that allows users to automatically see the time of day by bringing the watch next to the heart rate sensor being worn around the chest. If you want the ability to customize the display where the time of day is visible all the time with the heart rate, then I would recommend the M400. It gives the user the ability to edit what is displayed to your needs - Mike @ Polar USA
Q: what is the best replacement strap/transmitter for the ft7
