I'm not always the biggest fan of remasters, but this one does a wonderful job bringing new life to the game that go the Xbox 360 off the ground. I highly recommend it for those that played it nine years ago for a trip down memory lane or for those that missed out on a classic the first time around.

This is more of a remake than a mere remaster. The graphics have been overhauled to take advantage of the Xbox One's more powerful hardware. So it looks beautiful. But how does it play? IMO, better than ever. It feels smoother across the board. Overall, this is a must have, IMO.

This game was one of my first experiences on the Xbox 360 and it was one heck of a game back then. For nostalgia purposes I decided to pick up this remaster and it is definitely worth playing again. There are some tweaks to gameplay but it's for the best I suppose.

While not a rebuilt/remake GOW (wait for GOW4) it's definitely got some nice upgrades and runs at a slick 60fps. Anyone who has already played this should give it another go and highly recommended to anyone that never experienced gears in the last gen.

Game looks and feels like what a nextgen game should be. I generally don't enjoy remastered games b/c it's usually a new skin on an old game. It's obvious every aspect of this game was rebuilt from the ground up. Better than I thought it would be.

This game still has the classic Gears of War feeling, but it is much improved. Better graphics, smoother gameplay, and soon to include downloadable copies of the other games in the series. This is an excellent bargain.

A BEAUTIFULLY DONE remastered version of a classic! Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a gorgeous trip down memory lane, and perfect for first time GoW players as well. You can really tell how much work was put into it!

The graphics are amazing compared to the original. Just google screenshot comparisons and you will be blown away. The gameplay is just like the original, but that's a good thing. I love gears!

Played the original on both Xbox 360, as well as PC. I can tell you there is much improvement here. The game runs very fluidly at 1080p at 60hz on my 4K display. Game looks almost brand new and includes all DLC made for the game. Also, if you log on and play online you will be entered to receive all the other GOW titles for the Xbox One as soon as they are released. Great value, and definitely worth replaying even if you played the original.

This game is fantastic. Nothing else to say really, it was slightly buggy at launch but now it's fixed and perfectly fine. Would recommend to anybody that enjoys shooters.

This is my first entry into the Gear of War series, and I have to say it is pretty fun. The story is at times confusing, but the game play is pretty fun.

Whew . . . Gears of War may be one of the most visceral, intense near-FPS on the market. I state that the game is "near-FPS" because, if you are not aware, the game is played from an over-the-shoulder third person view much like the POV from Resident Evil 4. And I must say that it fits this style of gameplay perfectly. Throughout the game heart-skipping moments abound. The fighting is non-stop and insanely intense. The game designers at Epic were ingenious with their implementation of their duck-and-cover design. You CAN NOT survive a moment without it. And this focus on cover adds to the authenticity of the game's world, Sera. Add on top of this the GORGEOUS graphics, brought to you by the Unreal Engine 3, and you are immediately one with the world and its culture. On a low-note though I must admit that the dialogue, although well executed by the voice actors, is regrettably CHEEEEZZE. I almost have to remind myself that I'm not watching an Arnold or Sly over-the-top action film from the '80s filled with all their wonderful one-liners. However, this is hardly anything more than a slight "groaner" moment and should definitely not affect one's decision on whether or not to get this game. And of course this is an M-rated game, therefore definately NOT for children.

Originally released back in 2006, this is the game that put the Xbox 360 on the map. No fully remastered for the Xbox One, take advantage of heart-pounding gameplay that can't be found anywhere else.

Really enjoyed this HD remake of Gears. If you played before 12/31/15 then you also get a free copy of Gears of War 2 and 3 via online code.

Played through the whole collection with a coop buddy and if was so fun playing it on insane mode and collecting the tags again as well!

I'm glad the coalition decided to redo GOW 1. I wish they would've remastered GOW 2,3 and Judgement but I'm satisfied with this game.

if you loved the original Gears of War, you must own this remake. Updated graphics and the game still feels amazing! Must have!

So, I've never been a huge Gear of Wars guy. I got this more for the sake of playing with friends. It looks super good, updated for current gen graphics and plays well.

Finally GOW is on next gen console. This is classic Gears with a graphics update. Something to hold us over till GOW 4.

Looks great and plays even better than before. No more host advantage online. Really liking the Blitz game mode online.
