If you liked the Bioshock series, then you should enjoy Prey. A lot of similarities in game mechanics and the way tension builds. You won't survive purely on shooting through every enemy, nor will you beat this game without thinking carefully on how you'll approach some of the trickier situations. Clearly a "brains before brawn" game.

From the hours I have put into this game I would say its a good not great game, combat is not the greatest, respawning enemies after you have killed them, hate the keycard BS, Enjoyable to play as the mimics will make you jump, space walking is cool plus you get cool views of moon and earth. Good game which provides hours of gameplay.

I haven't beaten the game yet, but it is very good so far. Bethesda has always been great with their storylines and Prey follows suit. Lots of mistery and suspense. The aliens are new and creative, giving the game a fresh feel and not your typical sci-fi experience. There's a lot to explore and a lot of ways to play. I can see replaying it again to try different tactics and see what happens.

The story is set on a space station where an alien life form has got free and is busily taking over. It's your job to escape and decide the fate of the station.
The game has great motion and a wide variety of weapons and skills to chose from as you progress. It reminded me of Bioshock 1 and Bioshock 2.

This game is a unique take on the sci fi shooter. Has great graphics and fun game mechanics but is very frustrating if you go in trying to play like a normal first person shooter. Be prepared to be out of ammo and health constantly, even on lower difficulties. If you can get past that it's pretty enjoyable, especially the story.

This game was better then I thought. I got it on sale for $10 and thought why not? The setting is in space and it seems kinda creepy in a way. The enemies are weird alien smoke creatures. It's sort of hard difficulty at first but gets easier. It's unique and makes you feel tension.

If you ever played "Half Life" and enjoyed the role of Gordon Freeman (main protagonist) then you WILL enjoy this game. I will always remember when I first played Half Life...the slight sounds of when the creepy creatures were approaching....right before they jumps toward your face...the anticipation....always on the hunt to find a better weapons or more ammo. I recently picked up PREY on a whim....it was on sale for $20. I did not know anything about the game itself, but it only took a few minutes of playing before I was totally engrossed in the game. I am about 1/4 way through the game and have not found anything to complain about. This game is a lot of fun, with all the creepy anticipation of the enemy about to get you, and it offers lots of reading materials throughout the game to provide a nice immersion in the action as well as the storyline of "world" in which the player stumbles around, while trying to solve the different levels. At the same time, reading the different books or picking up every single item you come across is not necessary to finish (or enjoy) the game.
I highly recommend this to any gamer that enjoys First Person Shooter games and especially the gamers that had to joy of playing the original Half Life games.

It's a mix of Bioshock and Dead Space and will terrify you. Game is big and best taken slowly so you have time to explore EVERYTHING. Buy it!

I thought this game was well done. Much better than some of Bethesda's other titles. The graphics are clear and smooth. The story and gameplay are different and interesting. I still have yet to finish this game, so I'm going to wait on giving it 5 stars. A fun game that's something different.

Immersive survival horror

Prey down to its core is a survival horror game. While unrevaling the main plot, I thoroughly enjoy the near complete freedom to explore the world via numbers of path limited by only creative means to access locations via in-game tools/skills/weapons. There are usually more than 2 ways to achieve a certain objective. The attention to detail in Prey makes playing this game like an immersive simulation of what it's like to be trapped in a space station haunted by aliens. Rescource are limited. I feel vulnerable, always checking my back and around corners. The game is not littered with low health "trash mobs;" instead, the few enemy encounters per area are memorable, make sense story wise, and are scary to engage. The fights are not always easy but they feel fair. I derived great fun in defeating enemies by tricking them into traps and environmental hazards with careful planning and execution. Always plan an escape route! I'm close to finishing the game after 40 some hours of playing. It's a lot longer than my friend's 25 hours but I spent a great deal of time just having fun exploring. I'll very likely replay this game from start a few more times to try different "builts" of my character for the unique play styles. I'm getting a lot of entertainment value out of this game.

If you ever played Skryim or Fallout and wished it was set in space with an emphasis on scifi horror than this is the game for you.
