If you want to record front or back ( not at a time) only during device ng, then purchase it. Do not purchase it as your backup camera, and it's calibration sucks.

I use it as a rear view mirror (kind of have to since it’s covering your original rear view mirror). Hopefully I can swap out the current rear view camera for one with a better camera.

Posted .HI! Thank you for your review! I am sorry you are having issues with it. Try repositioning the rear camera bit higher to avoid direct lights.
You can also turn the monitor off and use it as a regular mirror while it still records.

But the biggest letdown is what I thought was the biggest selling point: the screen with video that is supposed to take place of the actual mirror, is not bright enough. Impossible to use during the day, especially in the convertible. At night, for whatever reason the car lights blur the image making it impossible to know which lines they are driving on. Its already installed already on both of my cars, so there’s not way to do a do over. I will not be buying another unit for another car that I have.

you can increase the screen brightness in the menu settings.
You can also record more than 2 minute loops as well, by adjusting "loop recording" in the menu options. If you don't want the glare to be an issue, please enable "screen sleep", so you can use the device as a regular rearview mirror. During the daytime it is useless unless you use it as a mirror it's too bright outside and the screen is too dim

Posted .Hi! Thank you for your review! I am sorry you had issues with your M2 because of glare. That can happen when headlights hit the camera directly. Try repositioning it or turn on screensaver to turn off the screen but have it still record.
