These headphones are extremely comfortable, there is a self-adjusting headstrap that conforms to your head. The ear cups are padded and fit snugly over your ears, blocking out the real world while you're playing a game or watching a movie. Included with the paperwork for the headphones is a 2-year subscription to Dolby Access/ATMOS that you can download for your Xbox. The Dolby app tells you which movies and games are Dolby compatible and has a bunch of demos of games and movies so you can check out the enhanced sound. The headphones sound great while gaming and watching movies, I played Borderlands 3 and it sounded amazing. I also watched 1917 and Batman vs Superman, which were like all new movies with the great sound. The headphones plug into your Xbox controller, so there is a short cable. If you want to use it elsewhere, you'd probably have to use an extension cable. The headphones come with a detachable boom mike, which is great because I almost never use the mike. That way it's not in the way when you're not using it. There is also a volume control slider on the headphone cable, so you can adjust the volume right on the headphones, instead of on the device you're using. And though these are marketed for Xbox customers, they work just as well with a laptop or desktop computer. I played some games and listened to music on my laptop and they worked great.

On seeing the headset out of the box for the first time, I can't say I was expecting a whole lot from it. To be honest, it looked exactly like just any other gaming headset in existence with nothing particularly special about it. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I actually tried it out. It took me a little bit to figure out how to adjust it properly - since headsets usually slide to expand, I was not expecting the expansion method to involve actually popping apart the headset and had to read the manual to figure it out. Other than that, everything else was pretty intuitive. Plug & Play, no need for special apps outside of Dolby Atmos (which I use anyway), and no real quirks to figure out about it like I've had with a lot of headsets. It just works. I like that. It's also nice that that they include an activation code for Dolby Atmos in the box in case you didn't already have it, because while the headset on its own is pretty decent the Dolby software actually makes noticeably better. While this headset is designed for Xbox, the standard 3.5mm audio jack means I can use it on basically anything that's not a flagship phone. It sounds alright on the Switch and it's decent with an iPod, but it really shines when connected to an Xbox or a PC with Dolby Atmos enabled. In various shooter games I tried, I was actually able to pinpoint where sounds were coming from without having to spin around and look. While that may seem like the bare minimum to hardcore gamers, I usually play with sound over a stereo system so I was actually impressed. It's especially useful in games like Control, where I often get lost because I can't figure out where a sound is coming from. In addition, the audio quality is pretty good. Music doesn't really sound great on it, but games absolutely do. While hardcore gamers may prefer something with a little more configuration ability, and software to tune it to their tastes, and maybe a bunch of RGB; this headset would be really great for someone who just wants to plug it in and play without worrying about all the configuration. And to be honest, the simplicity is part of the charm for me. I could totally recommend this headset for casual gamers. On a side note, the packaging was kind of weird but it looks made to be almost totally recyclable. While unrelated to the headset itself, that was a nice touch.

I bought this as a replacement for my son. He already needs to replace it again as the sound is going. Good thing I got the replacement warranty through Best Buy!

Good hearing quality; volume control broke after 3 weeks of use(wasn’t everyday use as i have 2 headsets)

My detachable mic wont stay in the muted spot! It keeps falling down! Im gonna be returning it to best buy because I dont always want to be unmuted highly disappointed

Ive only used the gen prior(2nd hand) and a turtle beach set ,so I’ve got no complaints w/it on my Xbox1.

Great sound and noise cancellation. But the mic didn’t last long. Not sure if it’s the mic or port but stopped working after a month.

Horrible. It broke in less than 30 days… Best Buy now claims 15 day return policy despite being an Elite member and I had to waste the $20 warranty for it.

It is very sturdy. The kid uses it fir hus XBOX Serues X. It is loud. Worth the investment.

Cheaply made. I will not purchase another one. The head set at the top is so thin it breaks easily.

I like how it gives you the atmos already. It makes a big difference.

2 minute review ---------------------- Sounds amazing although it lacks that thumping bass. Good sound stage as well. It is well built and also has settings to adjust the ear cups so it really fits well on my large head. The best thing about this headset is that it has 3.5mm port which means you can use it for literally anything - Xbox, PS3, computer, smartphone, tablet etc. So basically it is multi-functional. The mic can be detached as well. The mic is very nice and the other party can hear me Cleary, Pros ----- 1. Light weight, comfortable, sits well on my large head 2. Include code for Dolby atmos 3. Strong sound stage. Cons ------- 1. No thumping bass but it is good enough for game play. Build Quality ---------------- I would say for the price, the build quality is very good, nice adjustable earcups with 3 levels and the headphone also stretches to make it a good fit on your head. Mic is detachable. Usage ------ It has a detachable mic and when the mic is attached and flipped up it acts as a mute function. The wire that connects the headset also has volume controls there are no other controls. Since the headphone has a 3.5mm jack, it can be used with any device. Love the fact that I can use it on the computer for my zoom calls. The sound quality is very good when playing call of duty, Fortnite etc. like I mentioned earlier, the bass is not thumping but I don’t miss that during gameplay. The sound stage is good and has good surround feel.

The metal frame gets rid of the hinge which usually breaks on other headphones
