Ring camera's have exceptional video capability, the audio though good primarily because the small size of the speaker is okay. I have multiple cameras (Ring and Blink) around my property and upgrade the Blink for Ring systems primarily for the recording option. I found it easier to manipulate and program Ring better than all the other brands I've tested. As an aside I'm a former IT Network/Cyber engineer.

These are pretty good little cameras and I have a few of them. One thing I don't understand about them though is they have a feature to turn off the infrared I believe for night viewing because it can glare on a window if it's pointed out of a window. But what gets me is at nighttime there's a blue light on the front of it that comes on that totally ruins the picture and you can't turn that off if it's pointing out of a window. Other than that, pretty good little portable cameras that you can hook into your ring network. They also have a mic so you can hear sound and also speak to whoever is in the live feed. Also, there is no battery option for these. You have to plug them in to an outlet. And they do come with a power cord.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The blue light typically comes on to indicate that the camera is recording an event, such as motion detection or the initiation of a Live View. Currently, there is no option to turn off this light indicator.

This is my 3rd camera and the latest is to see the cat that keeps coming on my porch. I saw him on my front camera walking on my car in the middle of the night, he never walks on any other cars out there. If I catch him coming under my fence gate, I can get snapshots to show the owner. Great cameras.

Works well indoors and captures audio clearly and movement promptly. It's easy to set up and the portal to view the activity is easy to use / integrate with other ring devices.

The quality of the image is excellent. But they are so lightweight that it is hard to keep them pointed in one direction. The power cable tends to move them around a little. Some double stick tape on the bottom will help.
I would recommend this to a friend

The two pack, a great buy, was purchased although only one has been put in service (the other will be a spare). Despite being listed for interior operation, I installed it high in a covered exterior porch area with DC power wiring passed to an inside wall outlet hence no need for rechargeable batteries. Operates properly to strategically scan my front doorway, front yard and driveway. The motion sensor readily detects activity within ~ 50-foot range and ignores passing road traffic. Linked up to both my computer and cell phone. Works for me.

Got the Ring 2-Pack Indoor Plug-In 1080p Cams to watch a couple spots in the house. Setup was quick and the video is clear enough for what I need. Privacy cover is a nice extra, but motion alerts can be hit or miss. Not perfect, but works fine for basic indoor security

It sounds like your Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.) is not performing as expected. We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.) functioning as intended. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps: Tap the menu (≡) on the top left. Tap "Devices." Tap the device that you want to adjust. Tap "Motion Settings." Tap "Smart Alerts." Tap "Enable Feature." Tap "Continue." Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion." You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications. After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done.
We invite you to reach out to our Community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.). I bought four ring cameras for my home, two for upstairs and two for downstairs. They work great and it is such a relief to be able to check on my place when I’m not there. It just gives added security and it isn’t an expensive option. I absolutely recommend them.
