Just realized that if someone throws a rock through the window these will not send an alarm since their "contact" has not been broken. But, if you have an Alexa echo nearby you can use Alexa guard which sets the echos to listen for broken glass and fire alarm sounds. I'm sure best buy would install these for 99/each lol.

It sounds like to the device is not functioning as expected. The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor (2nd Gen.) is designed to work with the Ring Alarm Base Station to be keep your entrances secure. The Ring Alarm Base Station is required to connect and configure the sensor.
