A: You would need a ring base station. You would then be able to control the sensor with the ring app on your phone.

A: Only if they know where the sensor is positioned on the inside of the window. If they can figure this out, they are getting in no matter what

Q: What is the difference between 1st and 2nd Gen?

A: The 2nd gen are 30-40% smaller, giving you more mounting options. The batteries are also reported to last longer.

Q: I know I would need one for front door and back sliding door. How many do I need for windows. Do I need one for each window? What if the windows are connected like in the attachment?

Q: Hi, do I need to pay a ring plan in order to use this sensor?, I'm only getting it to pair it with my Astro robot so when someone opens the door Astro can go to the front door , I'm not using it as a security function since I have my alarm provider.
