Great 2K Doorbell, Odd Charging Choice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Quick and easy setup Great quality Plenty of customization options from the Ring app Decent battery life so far (over 8 days and only down to 76% from a full charge). Removable battery for quick swap. Cons: Zoom quality leaves a lot to be desired Battery charges via micro-USB; slow charging speeds It took me about 30 minutes to be up and running, including creating a Ring account. Before the installation, you need to install the app and scan the QR code behind the Ring doorbell camera to sync it to your account. It does support 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. For the physical installation, since I live in a townhome apartment, I wasn’t able to drill screws into the brick wall, and I wasn’t going to drill into the door either. I ended up using outdoor Velcro tape to attach it to the door. So far it’s been holding and surviving days of rain (fingers crossed). It's a great option for us renters who aren’t able to drill into outside walls. You do get 30 days of Ring Protect. After that, you will have to subscribe to one of their available plans or use it without a subscription. Ring Solo: Their cheapest plan is $4.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly. You get up to 180 days of video storage, smart alerts, rich notifications (snapshot previews that show up on your lock screen), bulk download (up to 50 videos simultaneously), and the ability to set it to one of the 3 available modes (home, away, or disarmed). Ring Multi: If you have multiple Ring devices, this plan is $9.99 monthly or $99 yearly. You get all the features provided in the Solo plan. Ring Pro: The top tier is $19.99 monthly or $199.99 yearly. It provides all the features from the Solo and Multi plans, but you also gain features like Video Description, Single Event alerts, and Video Search. Basically, it will provide a description of what it detected without you needing to open the Ring app. Single Event alerts can be combined into one notification, and you get the ability to search through your recorded videos. I will say I find the available plans provided by Ring offer more value compared to other companies' plans, which often start at $9.99 for a single device. To be honest, I ended up upgrading our rear camera to a Ring camera because I was previously paying $10 for a single camera elsewhere. I also find the Ring app to be more polished and quicker when viewing alerts or recordings. The same can be said for their web interface when accessing the cameras online from a web browser. After my trial ends, I will most likely subscribe to their Multi plan. Another feature I liked was the Neighbors section. It gives you the ability to post and see what others have observed in an anonymous way, like reported crimes, suspicious behaviors, or missing pets and children. You can see the general area where it’s being reported, but it won’t show an exact location for privacy protection. There is also a "search party" feature enabled by default. Using AI, whenever there is a critical event impacting your area—like a missing pet or a wildfire—it will let you know and ask if you want to share relevant snapshots or videos. If you want to turn this off, it’s located under the Control Center. Like I mentioned earlier, the battery life seems to be decent so far. However, I'm not a fan of using micro-USB to charge the battery pack. There is a tool provided to quickly remove the front cover to slide the battery pack out, but charging can take up to 10 hours. This might be the only thing I dislike about this setup: the charging speed and making sure I have a micro-USB cable available. With USB-C being the norm nowadays, I'm not sure why they felt the need to revive the micro-USB cable. Connection has been solid. I haven’t experienced any dropped connections, though I occasionally do see a low signal alert from my Wi-fi connection. Overall, I do like the simplicity of the Ring camera, from the setup to using their app to manage the cameras. Of course, during the trial you get to try all the fancy features from their Pro plan. So far they have performed well, and the AI descriptions provided are accurate as well. I don’t live in an area that sees much traffic, so their Multi plan is sufficient enough for me. But if you do live in an area that gets a lot of traffic, the Pro plan would be worth it in my opinion for the smart video descriptions you get, without having the need to open the Ring app for every single notification.

Posted .Hi J0A0A7.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are always looking for ways to improve our neighbor's experience, and your feedback is an invaluable part of this process. That is why we are dedicated to offering devices that help you safeguard what is most important at home, while also allowing you to connect with your neighbors from anywhere. We’re glad to read that you are finding the provided features useful.
Regarding the charging experience, we'd like to recommend the Quick Release Ultra Battery Pack as an upgrade for your Battery Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen). It charges via USB-C with built-in fast-charging technology, holds up to 67% more battery capacity than our standard battery packs. We also recommend looking into the Ring Solar Charger compatible with your Battery Doorbell Plus. With a few hours of direct sunlight per day, it can help keep your device fully charged in most cases.

High quality videos!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like my new Ring battery doorbell plus. Instructions on how to install the Ring doorbell are very easy to follow. As it states in the name, it comes with a battery that must be charged before installation. I am not sure how long the charge will last before I have to recharge again, but I do know that it only took 4 hours to fully charge once out of the package. It comes with the necessary hardware to install the doorbell in either a wood surface or brick/concrete. I also like that they include an extra plate to angle the doorbell in order to catch more of the entry to my porch. Once I downloaded the app and set up my account, it was easy to install. It took me about 15 minutes to get it hooked up and connected. The app allows you to not only view the recordings, but it gives you access to the pro features. Some of the features that I have found useful are the video descriptions, which gives you a quick summary of the what is happening in the video. It is surprisingly accurate! I also like the video search feature, which allows you to find specific clips using keywords. Another neat feature is the active warning. It warns visitors that they are being recorded. The retinal tuning allows for fine tuning of video quality automatically. It has been 3 years since my last doorbell and I have to say that the quality of the recordings is very noticeable. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this new Ring doorbell.

Easy to use security
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus in Nickel Silver for about a week now, and overall it's been a great addition to my home security setup. The video quality is impressively sharp, making it easy to identify visitors and monitor package deliveries. The wide-angle view captures much more of my front yard than my previous doorbell, and the enhanced night vision provides clear visibility after dark. Installation was straightforward, and the rechargeable battery offers flexibility since there's no need for existing doorbell wiring. The motion detection alerts are responsive and customizable, helping reduce unnecessary notifications. Pros: Crisp 2K video quality with excellent detail. Wide-angle Head-to-Toe view covers more area. Reliable night vision performance. Easy wireless installation and setup. Rechargeable battery provides flexible placement. Cons: Battery life can decrease with frequent motion events. Many advanced features require a subscription. Occasional notification delays depending on Wi-Fi strength. Overall, the Ring doorbell delivers strong video performance, useful smart features, and dependable security monitoring, making it a worthwhile investment for homeowners looking for a modern, easy-to-install video doorbell.
