After a week or more of trying to link this thing, I gave up thinking I need the Chime Pro for the dual band connection. After going threw all that at best buy to pay a little more for the so called better chime, I ended up calling Ring tech. After over an hour with the Tech trying to link...NO LUCK! The Ring door bell hooked up with not much problem. I know when someone is at the door but no one else. BIGGEST WAST OF MONEY!!

I would like to investigate this concern with you directly, and find a solution in a timely manner. If you are not receiving a chime when a specified event takes place, then I would recommend checking the Ring App settings to ensure the doorbell notification has been enabled properly. 2. Select Devices, and tap on the doorbell you wish to connect to the Ring Chime.
      3. From the icon menu, select Linked Chimes. This will show you all available devices you may have connected, and how you would like it to notify via the Ring Chime. Be sure to select the device you wish to manage.
      4. The next page will show you what will happen when someone rings your doorbell. If the music note button is not highlighted, be sure to tap the icon to enable this feature.

This chime will not go past the WiFi setup. I got this chime to replace older model that stopped working over time. That older chime model was super easy and quick to setup, but for whatever reason this new chime will not go past the WiFi setup. The video shows the ring doorbell flashes blue for setup mode but mines does not. So I may try find older model online now and return this one.

      Hello Chargerwoes,
Here at Ring, we understand how critical it
is for your Ring Chime Pro to work as intended. It's a key component to ensure
all connected Ring devices have a strong signal, along with providing an
internal audio effect through your home. We are here to lend some assistance.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Chime
Pro staying online. When this happens, we recommend unplugging the Chime Pro
for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. The ideal placement for your Chime
Pro is about halfway between your wifi router and the device it’s connected to.
Wifi extenders work best with devices that won’t be moved, and ideally, the
maximum distance between the router and the device should be under 30 feet.
If the distance is greater than 30 feet, you might
need a different solution to a weak wifi signal, like a mesh network instead of
a wifi extender. A wifi router creates a single access point that broadcasts a
signal. The further the signal has to go, the weaker the signal gets. For more
information on troubleshooting your Ring Chime, please see our help center

      Hello TamB,

Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring experience with us. We strive to deliver quality devices that will serve you in the long run, as we understand that you will be relying on them to keep you updated on activity at your home. You should be able to enjoy the peace of mind that the Ring Chime is designed to add to your home security with consistant audio alerts.

If you are having issues keeping your device connected to your network, please ensure that you are attempting the connection on a 2.4GHz network only. If you're still not able to successfully get the device online, try rebooting your modem and/or router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, the devices like to be rebooted about once a month for optimal performance.

Lastly, if the above does not resolve your concern, you can attempt a hard reset on your Chime. Please hold down the setup button for 15 consecutive seconds. The light on the front may begin to flash a few times. You will know the reset is complete when the light stabilizes to solid blue.

If you still have your Ring Chime, we would love to connect you with an online forum to discuss your network connectivity concerns in more detail. For any additional installation questions or set up concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/.

      Hello Liperich1912,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The Ring Chime is designed to give you an extra alert that someone is at your Ring device. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that we can find you a resolution in a timely manner.
After reading your review it seems that you are having trouble with your Chime alerting you when your phone is on silent. To ensure that your Chime alerts you at all times we recommend linking your Ring device to your chime, this can be done in the Ring App. To link your Ring device to your Ring Chime please see the following help center article: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034840052-How-to-Link-your-Ring-Devices-to-a-Chime-or-Chime-Pro.
If you still have concerns regarding this, we would love to hear from you directly on our Ring Community forum. This is a platform intended for Ring users, just like yourself, to create open discussions regarding their Ring experiences, provide suggestions or feedback, and more: https://community.ring.com/.
