Nice but can be frustrating

We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to light setting. The Ring Floodlight Cam Plus is an outdoor security camera designed to provide you with the ability to customize your Floodlight Cam's zone coverage, motion settings and light settings in the Ring app. If the light on your Ring Floodlight Cam plus won't turn off, here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
* Try turning the light off manually within the Ring app. If it comes back on, examine the camera's view for anything that might be triggering motion detection.
* Verify that a Light Schedule isn't enabled in the app and causing the light to activate.
* Check the Device Health section of your Ring app to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
* Reboot your Ring Floodlight Cam Plus from the Ring app by tapping "Reboot This Device" from the Device Health page.

One of the best most versatile, spotlight, cameras

Okay for home security purposes

Okay video quality- not great, struggles in sunlight ( previous gen model was better). Subscription is required for viewing previous recordings (2 months) which I am okay with but wish it supported a sd card for local storage to reduce reliance on internet connection for times when there is internet outage from ISP or when Ring has AWS/cloud issues (they have had a few).

It doesn’t disappoint because not only is it bright but the clarity of the camera is amazing.

If you are experiencing an issue with your Ring Floodlight Cam Plus’s sound quality, we recommend that you check the following: Bring your Ring Floodlight Cam Plus near your router and trigger an event. If the sound improves, you may want to add a wifi extender like the Ring Chime Pro to your setup to improve connectivity. If the sound does not improve, try holding the setup button down for twenty seconds and testing again. Remove the power source from your Ring Floodlight Cam Plus for twenty seconds, reinsert it, then test audio again.
The Ring Floodlight Cam Plus can be installed on a wall or under an eave. It will be important to properly install the mounting bracket and adjust the device depending on where you are installing it. If you’re installing under an eave, the arrow should point toward the wall. If you’re mounting the Ring Floodlight Cam Plus on an eave or overhang, you will also have to rotate the lights away from the camera. Visit our support center for a step-by-step installation guide.

It was well packaged and installation and setup were easy. But, like all of the Ring devices i have bought, it is expensive when compared to the competition…do i get what i paid for? Probably. It does irritate me that I have to pay a monthly fee for them to save videos. I may shop around…
