It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. If your Floodlight Cam's lights are turning on unexpectedly, first check the area for heat-emitting objects. Things like parked cars, furnace vents, or dryer exhaust can cause this. This camera uses passive infrared to detect heat in a 270-degree radius, while the camera only sees a 140-degree area. Because of this, things the camera doesn't see can still trigger the lights. Adjusting the sensitivity or the angle of your Floodlight Camera might help reduce these false triggers. To access Motion Settings, please follow these steps in the Ring app:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of your Ring app Dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Tap Motion Settings. Adjust features to your preferences.
Smart Alerts allows for customization of notifications to detect a Person or Other Motion.

It sounds like your device is not performing to your expectations. There are several reasons that your device may be offline. We have listed some here:
There could be an internet service disruption in your area.
Your wifi network name changed or your wifi network password has changed.
You switched from a 2.4 GHz (2G) to a 5 GHz (5G) wifi network and your Ring device is not compatible with 5 GHz. Try re-enabling the 2.4 GHz network—all Ring doorbells and security cameras are compatible with 2.4 GHz networks.
Physical obstructions between your Ring device and wifi router, such as large metal appliances, multiple walls, heavy furniture, or concrete, stone, or other dense building materials.
A blown fuse, power outage, or loss of backup power to the device or router.
If you have a Floodlight Cam that is connected to a light switch or a timer, make sure the switch is set to “on” or the timer is working so the camera receives power.
To reconnect your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus to your wifi network:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (≡).
Tap "Devices" and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi.
Tap the "Device Health" tile.
Under "Network," tap "Change Network" and follow the prompts in the app.
Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in "Device Health" to confirm it has successfully reconnected.
