The features and technology provided by the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. If your Floodlight Cam's lights are turning on unexpectedly, first check the area for heat-emitting objects. Things like parked cars, furnace vents, or dryer exhaust can cause this. This camera uses passive infrared to detect heat in a 270-degree radius, while the camera only sees a 140-degree area. Because of this, things the camera doesn't see can still trigger the lights. Adjusting the sensitivity or the angle of your Floodlight Camera might help reduce these false triggers. To access Motion Settings, please follow these steps in the Ring app:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of your Ring app Dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Tap Motion Settings. Adjust features to your preferences.
Smart Alerts allows for customization of notifications to detect a Person or Other Motion.
