Even on the tightest detection perimeter it still was too sensitive to not turn on every time a car drove by from about 40 feet.

Based on your review, it seems like you are having trouble getting motion alerts from your Ring Floodlight. If you just installed your Floodlight Cam, you won't receive any motion alerts unless you set and activate at least one motion zone in your Motion Alerts. Please see our help center article for more information: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002007926-Not-Receiving-Motion-Alerts-on-My-Floodlight-Cam.
