Thank you for reaching out regarding your set-up concern. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Video Doorbell installed and working to secure your home. You should be able to complete the installation of your Ring doorbell within a matter of moments, and we are here to help.

While not comprehensive, the three most common causes of failure to complete the setup (aside from entering an incorrect wifi password) are your Ring device being too far from your wifi router, having a problem with your internet connection, or some type of issue related to your wifi modem or router.

If you haven't already, please bring your doorbell indoors, and try the set-up in the same room as the router. This will ensure that distance and interference aren't causing the issue. If the attempt fails, and you are certain you have the correct wifi password, please reboot your router. After the reboot, your set-up should complete as expected.

The Ring Floodlight Cam Plus Wired was designed to be a fairly simple DIY (do-it-yourself) type of installation. It sounds like the installation of your device was not successfully completed. We strive to include all needed parts, tools, and instructions to make the installation process as easy as possible for our customers.

Before you begin installing your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus outdoor security camera, make sure that you’re following safety code standards. Your Floodlight Cam Wired Plus security camera must be installed on a 4" round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and professional installation may be required by law.
