The picture quality is much better than the 1st gen doorbells. You have the ability to zoom in quite far. There appears to be a delay when an object is detected and when recording starts. I'll get a notification that movement is detected but when I go to the camera app it doesn't show up. The cameras are linked and should record when one detects movement but it doesn't always start recording.

Connecting it to my home Wi-Fi was smooth. However, an issue it have is the lights only sometimes turn off after movement is detected. I have verified the settings that tell it to turn off after 30 seconds. But sometimes they will stay on for hours or have to be manually turned off. One of the slick features is that you can custom set your detection zone with your phone. Meaning you can draw the boundary in a simple manner. I set it so someone would have to be 10 feet up my driveway before being detected. However, I still got detection's so I had to move it up further. I had to move the zone around my bushes as it was detecting them moving in the wind. The camera is to slow to react. A package carrier dropped off a package in bright daylight. He had to walk all the way up the driveway and past the camera. The camera only got a video of him walking away. Sensitivity was not set to low. When I come home it only catches the tail end my car going in the garage. I would still recommend it as the video quality is outstanding. I have been able to talk to friends via the microphone and speaker when they have come over when I was not home. And a fun note. I got a video of my neighbor moving her leaves off her yard onto mine. When I talked to her about it she denied it. Then I showed her the video.

The Floodlight Cam Wired Plus has Customizable Motion Zones, Live View and Color Night Vision that are controlled from the Ring app. This device was intended to pick up motions as soon as someone enters the custom motion zone. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with solutions to resolve the slow connection issues you described.
This article describes solutions to resolve the light setting issues you are currently experiencing: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004155866-Controlling-the-Floodlights-and-Light-Settings-on-Your-Floodlight-Cam. The manual "lights" control is the control that appears above the Motion Alerts toggle on your device's main menu in the Ring app. Toggle this control to manually turn the floodlights on (blue) and off (white). This control overrules any other setting or controls that are set with the Ring app. Regardless of whether you've scheduled the lights to be on or off or whether it's day or night, this control will always turn on your lights.
The quickest way to speed up Live View is to start using our Rapid Ring app. This new app is intended to connect you to your video events in a much quicker way than before. To download the Rapid Ring app, please visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Once there, search for Rapid Ring and click on the blue logo with the white bell. Please note, you'll still need the original Ring app to make device changes and view video recordings: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028023571-Rapid-Ring-App-Information.

Great product for a security option

It works even better than I expected! The distance we can see with it is so good! The picture/video is clear and I love you can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detected. We feel so much better when we are away knowing we have this security! 10/10 recommend!

Nice and bright when it pops on. If I were a thief, I'd try to be elsewhere. My only complaint is that when clouds pass in front of the sun, or when tree limbs wave in the breeze, the Ring camera detects that as motion. So I have been getting a few false positives. But I can live with a security device that is *too* aware!

If you’ve put up an outdoor light from a ladder, you know it’s a pain. Ring made this easy. They even included a built in strap and hook for ease of install. Set up from the app was also no problem. We were up and running in minutes. The quality of the video and sound are good. I would recommend this to my family and friends.

Nice but can be frustrating

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to light setting. The Ring Floodlight Cam Plus is an outdoor security camera designed to provide you with the ability to customize your Floodlight Cam's zone coverage, motion settings and light settings in the Ring app. If the light on your Ring Floodlight Cam plus won't turn off, here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
* Try turning the light off manually within the Ring app. If it comes back on, examine the camera's view for anything that might be triggering motion detection.
* Verify that a Light Schedule isn't enabled in the app and causing the light to activate.
* Check the Device Health section of your Ring app to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
* Reboot your Ring Floodlight Cam Plus from the Ring app by tapping "Reboot This Device" from the Device Health page.
