The light hoods should be able to rotate as they are supposed to go on top when rotated so that light is directed towards where they are aimed and not be on bottom thus reflecting light up onto the soffit/eave. Camera also has limited flexibility when ceiling mounted but was sufficient to cover my whole back yard.

It sounds like the device is not functioning as expected. Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus is an outdoor floodlight security camera with 1080p HD video. Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus has ultra-bright, motion-activated LED floodlights, Customizable Motion Zones, Live View, Color Night Vision, a 105db siren and two-way talk. Disconnect power to installation area at your circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning installation. Always use caution when handling electrical wiring. If you’re mounting the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus on an eave or overhang, rotate the lights away from the camera. If you’re mounting to a wall, rotate the camera downward into the installation position.

We understand how important it is to experience a reliable connection to your home security devices. The Ring Floodlight Cam Plus is intended to maintain a reliable connection to your home wifi. Our team is here to ensure that is the case.
This device is intended to connect to a 2.4 GHz wifi network. If you have been attempting to pair to a 5 GHz, please try the 2.4 GHz network instead.
The placement of your router is a crucial factor in achieving a great connection. If your wifi router is inside a cabinet, closet, or hidden by furniture, move it out into the open, at least six inches from any wall. Additionally, connecting a Ring Chime Pro, third party wifi extender or a mesh networking system may help to extend your wifi network. Do you happen to have one available.?
To help you along the way, and learn more about the issue, please visit the Device Health section of the Ring app to review the RSSI reading. RSSI is an indication of the camera's current internet connection. Numbers ranging in 70s or 80s may present a problem when connecting to your device. The Device Health page will also help you test your internet connection and provide tips on how to resolve common issues.
