The Ring Home Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. With a Ring Home Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Without a Ring Home Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

Great camera for Ring subscribers only

If you are pairing it w/other cams the subscription is on top of other options so it's kind of pricey over time. The floodlight is much better quality/light than the spotlight. Night vision is iffy but when light is on regular footage is great. Opted for sd/local storage camera instead after realizing the $10 show5 gen2 and the $10 blink cam deal that came with was not worth subscription $10/mth for the rest of my years

A Ring Protect Plan is not necessary to view real time notifications on your Ring cameras. Without the Ring Protect Plan you can still use the live view and two-way audio feature, you are still able to see who is at your door and answer motion notifications. In order to see past recorded videos from your ring device, you will need the optional Ring Protect Plan, which starts at $3/month per device or $30/year per device. I can keep an eye on the kids while they’re out playing and when it gets dark, the light comes on the only thing I don’t like is the motion detection . If the wind is blowing, the trees around it’ll go off.
