Half the time or more it doesn't load video so you can view it. The other half the time it's off line even though there is good wifi where it is located. The video is pretty grainy a lot of the time when it does work. It has a lot of problems for the money you pay for it.

You can edit each motion schedule to avoid getting motion alerts during certain times and days by following these steps:

      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the top Menu (≡).
      Tap Devices.
Select the device you'd like to apply the Motion Schedule to.
      Tap Motion Settings.
      Tap Motion Schedules.
Under Motion Schedules, select the Motion Schedule you'd like to edit (e.g. Schedule 1).

Hi Lweaver. I understand the importance of being able to rely on your Floodlight Cam for peace of mind, and I'm happy to offer some help. A good place to start for delayed notification or motion detection concerns is the RSSI, which is a measure of how strong the wifi connection to your Floodlight Cam is. You can check the RSSI on the Device Health page in the Ring app, and you can find more information on it in our Help Center article here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. As for the Light Schedule, a good troubleshooting step to try is to delete the Light Schedule and add it back. You can find the steps on how to do that here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058421812-How-to-Use-Security-Camera-Light-Schedules-. Hi ApplePi.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

We understand the importance of having a consistent wifi signal for the Ring Floodlight Cam Plus. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. Rest assured, we’re here to provide you with solutions to the connectivity concerns you are experiencing today!

If your device is continually falling offline, the problem is almost always related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss. In rare cases, however, this can be caused by settings in your router. We recommend taking the following steps:

Check for low upload speeds. To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices.

Check for poor signal strength. A poor wifi signal can make connectivity with your Ring device unreliable.

Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI. Router Reboot. If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.

If additional troubleshooting is required, visit our support center: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023559372-Fixing-Your-Devices-Falling-Offline-Repeatedly-by-Adjusting-Your-Router.

Hi Charley. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus online and working properly so you can keep your home secure. The features and technology provided by the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are eager to provide you with a solution for the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like your device is not operating as intended. Ring doorbells and outdoor security cameras are water-resistant and designed to withstand normal rainfall and snow. Ring products are not waterproof and should not be submerged in water or sprayed with high pressure water. If you can, it is recommended to keep your Ring device under a protective overhang such as a hanging roof. We are happy to provide you with the instructions to get the device back online.

Please follow these steps to reconnect your device to your network:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (≡).
Tap Devices and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi.
      Tap the Device Health tile.
Under Network, tap Change Network and follow the prompts in the app.
Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in Device Health to confirm it has successfully reconnected.

Poor video quality can be caused by several environmental factors.
We have listed the types of video issues here:
Overexposed, washed out videos: Washed out videos may be due to overexposure to sunlight.
Poor wifi signal strength: A decline in wifi signal strength may be caused by a weak connection between the router and your Ring device.
Traveling signal strength: This may be due to a wifi dead zone in your home where you loose signal strength between the router and your Ring device.

Poor wifi signal strength from your router could be the culprit for your video problems. To test your wifi signal strength:

Turn off your mobile device's cellular data and connect to the same wifi network as your Ring device.
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap Devices.
      Select your device.
Trigger an event on your Ring device. This could mean pressing the button on a doorbell or activating the motion sensors on a camera.
Answer the event and examine the resulting video.
      Possible outcomes from this test

Footage is crisp and clear: If your video appears good when next to the router, the issue may be caused by a disruption in between your router and your Ring device’s normal location. To fix this, try moving your device closer to the router or extend your wifi signal with a wifi extender like the Ring Chime Pro.
Footage is heavily pixelated: If you’re seeing heavy pixilation, even next to the router, this may be due to slow wifi speeds.
Severe pauses in Live Video: If your video pauses, stutters, or gets frozen and your wifi speed meets the minimum standards, try rebooting your router. Unplug your router, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. It should take three to four minutes to reboot. Then, test your Ring device again and see if there's any difference.
Long delay before your video starts: This is also caused by slow wifi speeds. Assuming you have high speed internet, reboot your router and the mobile phone, tablet, or PC you're accessing the video feed on, Then see if there's any difference when it's back on line.

We invite you to reach out to our Community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.

We can definitely assist you with this today to ensure your Ring device is performing optimally, and the proper settings are chosen within the Ring app.

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the light settings on your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus. We recommend that you customize your Floodlight Cam's zone coverage, motion settings and light settings in the Ring app.

To access controls for your Floodlight Cam:

      Open the Ring app
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap Devices.
Select the Floodlight Cam that you want to adjust.
      Tap the Device Schedule tile.
      Tap Light Schedules.
Follow the prompts in the Ring app to customize your light schedules.
You can find the Lights toggle on your device dashboard in the Ring app, above the Motion Alerts toggle. Toggle this control to manually turn the floodlights on (blue) and off (white).

This overrides any other setting or controls that are set in the Ring app. Regardless of whether you've scheduled the lights to be on or off or whether it's day or night, this toggle will always turn your lights on or off.
