Wish we would have made a different choice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It picks up too many unnecessary things --cars on the street, bees, birds, shadows. Also, the delay time between the activation of the camera and the reporting is more than we might expect. We have been in contact with the company but the results are still pending

Not bad, could be improved
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall pretty good. No wires, easy to set up the mounting bracket, etc. Performance will all depend on the strength of your WIFI. I comes down to that. If you have decent connection and decent upload speed, it will perform as advertised. If connection is unreliable and speed is slow, performance will be spotty. Video recording on web is cool, though I'm a little nervous about privacy. Could be improved by 1) need to have on/off switch to save battery when you don't want to be bothered with alerts and the camera using up battery (for example, I have a camera aimed at my driveway, but I also have a basketball hoop there. So if I'm playing basketball it will alert me continuously and use up the battery). 2) also need a discounted web recording plan if you're using multiple cameras/doorbell. 3) should offer free video recording (like say 7 days worth or 1GB worth) like NetGear Arlo camera. The package deal of doorbell and cameras in one box is great!

Stick Up Cameras, Great. Doorbell, Not So Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.got all this stuff set up last week. it's a decent package of stuff, and a good value compared to buying each item separately. the stick up cameras are great, and everything was easy to set up. the doorbell camera works wonderfully as a doorbell camera and as a doorbell, but not very well at all as a motion detector. (see videos included in this review) i've spent some (too much) time chatting with customer service at Ring. they want to sell me the more expensive Pro doorbell and tell me my problem is that, due to a couple of steps leading up to my door, the sensors "see over" my head. weirdly, i can see all of me, head to toe, from my gate to my front door, but the sensors don't trigger the alarm or camera til i'm literally walking past the camera. i've shared videos showing this with customer support, but they insist it's a problem of angle. llok at the following videos and you be the judge. in this video i exited the white truck on the curb and walked up the sidewalk, up the steps, and into my door before the motion detectors detect me https://ring.com/share/682109625 in this one i trigger the alarm manually, then describe my expectations https://ring.com/share/682371177 as near as i can tell from their "help", this will only work properly if you have a street level door, no steps, and a prefectly level yard. if that's really the case, it should be clearly stated in the item description.

Great once its setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took a couple of hours to charge all the units. Overall great package. The stick up cameras are easy to setup. Great job on those. The ring door bell gave me some problems with setup with the iPhone 6. I'm an IT guy so it wasn't user error. The unit would freeze and stop midway during setup. I had to use my Samsung Tab S for setup of the door bell. Quality is top notch but I will have to see what happens during winter. Picture and voice range from good to excellent. Motion trigger works as advertised. Battery power means versatile installation options. Will need to see how long between charges. The live feed (not often) lags on startup. So fix the iPhone setup issue and the live feed lag when connecting to a camera and it would be perfect.

Not Compatible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not compatible with my doorbell - among other things. So, as others said, all cameras are slow to respond - usually what I see is nothing. Whatever was there is gone by the time the video is caught. I figured out how to correct that by camera placement. OK, one problem solved. Live connect only sometimes works (70% of the time?) I had all the cameras temporarily mounted until I got most of the bugs worked out - I'm still iffy if I want to keep the system due to all the issues. I had to reconnect the chime several times as it kept losing contact with my system. So, actually connect the ring doorbell to my doorbell - all seems well until I push the button . . . my house doorbell won't stop ringing - seriously it rang continuously until I could get the ring disconnected. I tried the old button and all worked well. Reinstalled the Ring and once again, my house doorbell won't stop. Next step - I called customer support. A bit of time on hold (10 minutes?) and the person helping me was very nice, but really didn't listen to my problem. After about 20 minutes, it was determined that my house doorbell was not compatible with Ring . . . back to BB

Works Great, Except for the One Camera that Won't
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One Camera in my Ring Security Kit won't work and Best Buy wants me to bring the whole system back which is a terrible idea. Best Buy will not replace the camera that won't work. We even paid to have the Geek Squad come to our house and he said the camera does not work. Best Buy should replace the one camera that is not working. The rest of our system works great. The Ring Security Kit is a great buy for the money. All of the people that are doing all of the complaining should buy a several thousand dollar camera system and it will work perfect for them.

Disappointed and Unsatisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Video quality is poor on windows 10 PC. If you hard wire the device, you STILL need to remove and charge the device. Customer support said the battery runs down due to lots of activity (they defined it as 2 to 3 activities per day) . Well we get salespeople, windy conditions, lizards crawling on the porch daily and all activate the motion. The device never notified me of low battery. It was and is inconvenient removing and charging this device. Charge doesn't even last 60 days. I was told that it maintains a little charge. So, when I discovered this, I stopped charging it. This is an expensive device for it to not work as designed. It doesn't always notify you of activity, or it is very delayed. They also don't tell you that your WiFi router must be within 10 feet of the device. Mine is about 15 - 20 feet away. They said to purchase an extender and connect the Ring to the extender. Well, this just makes it more expensive. Ring offered the new version, but said I would have to pay the difference, which is about $50. I don't think so! Why invest more money in something that may or may not work. Great concept and technology, but it just does not work as expected. Ring needs to disclose more and test more. I am not pleased and would not recommend this $200 device. It needs to improve, significantly.

Good Wireless Security Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring doorbell camera and 2 stickup camera's were fairly easy to link up with my Wi-Fi/app and install. The part that took some time was dialing in the motion zones and sensitivity for each camera. This system appealed to me because I was NOT interested in running video cable or installing a power source for each camera. After a week, the battery life on the stickup camera's is around 90% and we have set them off ourselves about 3 or 4 times a day testing and adjusting. I'm guessing they will require a full charge every 2 to 3 months. My doorbell is hardwired so I won't have to charge that. If you want reliable video footage from the camera's, plan on spending $3/month per a device for the Cloud service. Otherwise, if you don't have your smart phone, tablet, or PC in hand when the camera is set off you won't see what's there. I think $9/month for 3 devices on the Cloud service will be worth it for peace of mind. I will probably buy 1 or 2 more of the stickup camera's for other exterior areas around my house.

Ring Doorbell isn't reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Pros of this product is that it has a fairly clear camera. The negatives are abundant. It caused hissing in our regular door bell so I had to disconnect it and run the Ring just off of battery which lasts one month; not 6 months as promoted or advertised. It is intermittent when sensing someone at the door. Sometimes it turns on and most of the time it does not. It's a unreliable product. It might be good in the next generation or two when they work the bugs out but I wouldn't buy it today.

Video Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just installed the doorbell, after a couple of days decided to return rather than install the stick up cameras. It took 5-6 seconds for the camera to adjust the brightness so that anything was visible, often enough time for whatever triggered it to be mostly out of range. Even in the afternoon, when the sun was behind the camera. Even after the brightness auto adjust there were bright spots where nothing was visible and dark spots where faces could not be made out.. Also, the frequency of recordings was off, Even at most frequent it would range from a few minutes between motion events to 20 min or so, sometimes catching passing cars or pedestrians, but then not capturing the time in between that someone was standing on my porch. If installed on battery-only, doorbell will not allow Live Veiw, though stuck up cams do.

Did NOT include important information
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this very expensive set over other competitors. PROS- The plus side is that this system works. But many times the internet reception is very slow. Precious time passes before I can see the camara feed before I decide to answer the door. CONS- What I didn't know was; 1- The battery life is VERY poor. It also takes a long time to charge 2-Views form recorded videos is an EXTRA cost to the RING company per camara 3- Reception is weak with wifi and other upgrades had to be added. If I could return this item and purchase a cheaper one I would. I'm overspending $150 to be able to take full advantage. I added a wifi extender and 2 solar panels. A colleague of mine had her doorbell connected to a private security company so hers works well. I'm looking forward to adding it to an external security company. If I knew all of this before I purchased I would not have bought it.

Posted .Hi Unhappy,
I'm sorry to hear you are not completely satisfied with your Ring products. Battery life is contingent on usage so the volume of alerts you receive per day will affect it but we can provide optimal settings to conserve your battery. Also, our optional cloud service plan for $3/month allows you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone. I would like to connect with you today to address all of the concerns you voiced in your review above. Would you please email me at [email protected] so we can get your device up and running to its full potential? I look forward to hearing from you and turning around your Ring experience.

Too many bugs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doorbell worked fine but stick up cams have too many problems. Live view only works 50% of the time, motion sensors too complicated to set. Not worth it. Buy the doorbell, not the cams until they fix them.

Great sense of security
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were recently getting a lot of packages stolen from our door so looking into getting some type of video surveillance. Well looking around the wired ones seemed like the best value but would be the hardest to install, so we decide to go with this since it's all wireless and we couldn't be happier. Clarity is great, motion detection works great, and we had it installed (by ourselves) in no time. I haven't had to reach out to customer service yet as I haven't encountered any issues but I heard their customer service is also amazing which is another reason I gave it a try. Love my new ring system!

Good, not great

Updated review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have changed my rating from 2 to 5 stars. Customer service with Ring is best in class. I have never seen a company do so much to ensure the success of their product and customer satisfaction. I will say also, at the suggestion of a Best Buy employee, I changed my router to a home wireless system (eero) which greatly improved the Ring functionality. I would not hesitate to recommend.
