GARBAGE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT BUY. These cameras are awful and rings customer service is just as bad. I bought one of the spotlight cameras and had it working for awhile. One day i unplugged it to charge the battery and went to reconnect it to my wifi and nothing happened. I tried troubleshooting myself to no avail. Ended up calling ring customer service and nothing worked. They ended up shipping me a warranty replacement thinking my camera went bad and the new one does the same thing. My wifi at home works just fine and everything in my household connects to my wifi with no issues. Ring customer service will not do anything else to help me. I've recently found similar issues from people posting this problem online and it sounds like ring forced firmware updates and alot of people now have cameras that will not connect anymore, just like me. I now have two paperweights that were a waste of money. BE AWARE OF BUYING ANYTHING RING RELATED, ESPECIALLY NOW THAT THEY ARE OWNED BY AMAZON.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand how important it is for your Ring Spotlight Cam Plus to function consistently and reliably. The features and technology provided by the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like your device is having trouble connecting to your home's wifi network. If you have issues connecting to your home wifi, try the following steps.
Make sure you're entering the correct password. Passwords are case-sensitive and do not include spaces. Your network password can often be found on the bottom or side of your router.
Make sure your password doesn't have any special characters. If your password contains characters like an asterisk (*), pound sign (#), or exclamation mark (!), remove them by changing the password in your router's settings. If you do not have access to these settings, contact your internet service provider to change the password.
Make sure you have a 5 GHz-compatible Ring device if you're trying to connect to a 5 GHz network. If you do have a 5 GHz compatible device but still have issues, connect to a 2.4 GHz network first, then switch to the 5 GHz network after setup is complete. You can do so via the Device Health section of the Ring app.

quality 1080p big number but not quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1080 P is one megapixel it’s been around for the last 5-10years reason for my review is that there’s two megapixel five megapixel 10 and 12 all the way up to 30 megapixel on commercial cameras. Why are we paying so much for one megapixel when these cameras should have five megapixels be able to identify people a bit better our phones have 12 megapixels cameras almost causes much as a phone quality very disappointed with these companies and their big numbers 1080 P can barely make out a make and model of a vehicle let alone a license plate I don’t know how this is getting five stars when it deserves one

We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The features and technology provided by the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you have some concerns with the video quality of your device. The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus offers 1080p HD video. Ring offers Adaptive Video Play, a feature programmed to prioritize continuous playback at the expense of quality. Rather than leave you hanging while your system's high-quality video buffering catches up, Adaptive Video Play transmits a lower-quality video image in the interim. When the higher-quality video image is loaded, your image will seamlessly switch over to a higher resolution.
Adaptive Video Play is necessary because loading times for videos can vary based on your available bandwidth. Visit our support center for more information.

Posted .Hi user263295.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
We understand how critical it is for your Ring Spotlight Cam to notify you of meaningful motion events where the device is installed. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device, such as the Ring Spotlight Cam, is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home. We are here today to provide you with solutions that will assist you in finding the best device settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like your device is not set up for optimal motion detection, and the battery is draining quickly. Excessive motion detection can cause your battery to drain faster than usual. The Ring Spotlight Cam contains advanced passive infrared (PIR) sensors.
In order to pick up all the motion you want to capture, it helps to understand a bit about how Spotlight Cam's sensors work and how to position your Spotlight Cam for maximum effectiveness. Your Spotlight Cam's PIR sensors detect the heat signatures of moving objects.
The optimal motion zone is right in the middle of your Spotlight Cam's field of view (FOV).
Think of your Spotlight Cam's Optimal Motion Zone as a tripwire for motion alerts. When objects move through this imaginary line, you can be guaranteed they will trip your Spotlight Cam's motion sensors.
Aim your Spotlight Cam so that the Optimal Motion Zone overlays the perimeter of your property or the area where you first want to be alerted about motion.
