    Film plenty of nothing!

    Battery doesn’t last very long. Alert bell rings outside very loud and is a quiet ring in home. Camera doesn’t come on soon enough therefore plenty notices saying person at door yet when view nothing showed. I could get out of my house walk to car put walker in car and enter car before alert said person at door. Wish it would film faster. Other than that clear picture and I’m going to purchase a solar charger and see if that can keep battery charged more than one week. Not sure if filming can start earlier but will contact Ring for assistance. It could be good if faster filming alert not ring outside and battery last longer. I need another week to see if these problems can be resolved if not then I wasted my money. I hope all can be resolved.

We understand how important it is for your Ring Spotlight Cam Plus to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.

      It sounds like you are experiencing issues with the device in regards to connection and battery life. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal performance.

      The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.

      To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:

      Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
      Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
      Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
      You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

      You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.

      To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:

      Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard.
      Tap "Devices."
      Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
      Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
      Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".

      A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.

      If your networking equipment hasn’t been power-cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.

    Camera is exactly what I was looking for to add to my ring system. This has a great picture, sound quality is excellent and installation was a breeze.

    Great camera when hardwired

    Works really well when hard wired, however logic behind the two batteries doesn’t work quite right. Sometime only one of the two is visible, then the other, and sometime none, which makes the camera turn off.

    This is just an addition for my outside view. There are a lot of break-ins around my neighborhood, and this fits well to capture anything suspicious.

    Ring Spotlight Cam Plus Installation

    Purchased Surveillance Camera along with having it installed. Was told it could be installed the next day, 1/7/24 (Sunday). Was contacted by Derrick from Geek Squad on Sunday & told that these devices are not scheduled to be installed during January or February in our region due to the cold temperatures; Kalamazoo, MI. He rescheduled for later in the week but he also cancelled the appt. & suggested it would probably be in later February. Ended up Cancelling the Installation portion of our purchase. We had purchased a similar camera several years ago & the mounting plate had broken so we actually went to Best Buy to get replacement plate but were told, there is none so we purchased a new camera and decided to have it installed as well. My husband and I are in our seventies & should not be up on a ladder & having it installed was the best. We were able to find a mounting plate & my daughter was in town so she offered to put up the old camera using the replacement mounting plate. Consequently, on 2/9/24, we visited the Best Buy Store to return the new camera. It was Store #413 at 11:57 & the gentleman completed my return but he responded with the comment "don't understand why your camera was not installed; our store installed during the month of January and into February and did not stop due to weather" I said to him that Derrick from the Geek Squad called me and told me that he would not be able to install the camera because of the cold weather & it should NOT have been set up. The gentleman went on and on about it should have been done and that I SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED THE KALAMAZOO STORE & TALKED TO A MANAGER...... I did not appreciate this guy putting it back in my hands. Why would it be my responsibility to call the store back?? It should have been Derrick calling to verify the installation in January. I asked him why Derrick did not contact the Kalamazoo store where I bought the camera. He indicated that it was just another Geek Squad from another location ......... did not make sense. All of these employees should know the services provided and when weather influences these services & what to do. This employee needs to support the customer not throw them under the bus.

    I love my camera. I wish I had electric hook up over my garage door so I don’t have to charge it but it holds a good charge for the most part.
