Was told it could be installed the next day, 1/7/24 (Sunday). Was contacted by Derrick from Geek Squad on Sunday & told that these devices are not scheduled to be installed during January or February in our region due to the cold temperatures; Kalamazoo, MI. He rescheduled for later in the week but he also cancelled the appt. & suggested it would probably be in later February. Ended up Cancelling the Installation portion of our purchase. We had purchased a similar camera several years ago & the mounting plate had broken so we actually went to Best Buy to get replacement plate but were told, there is none so we purchased a new camera and decided to have it installed as well. My husband and I are in our seventies & should not be up on a ladder & having it installed was the best. We were able to find a mounting plate & my daughter was in town so she offered to put up the old camera using the replacement mounting plate. Consequently, on 2/9/24, we visited the Best Buy Store to return the new camera. It was Store #413 at 11:57 & the gentleman completed my return but he responded with the comment "don't understand why your camera was not installed; our store installed during the month of January and into February and did not stop due to weather" I said to him that Derrick from the Geek Squad called me and told me that he would not be able to install the camera because of the cold weather & it should NOT have been set up. The gentleman went on and on about it should have been done and that I SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED THE KALAMAZOO STORE & TALKED TO A MANAGER...... I did not appreciate this guy putting it back in my hands. Why would it be my responsibility to call the store back?? It should have been Derrick calling to verify the installation in January. I asked him why Derrick did not contact the Kalamazoo store where I bought the camera. He indicated that it was just another Geek Squad from another location ......... did not make sense. All of these employees should know the services provided and when weather influences these services & what to do. This employee needs to support the customer not throw them under the bus.

What really what happened and caught it on camera.

Have had multiple issues of not working until i try to hit live view multiple times. It has come in handy and the light always turns on but i cant recommend it due to it being unreliable

Live View is an important feature that gives you peace of mind by allowing you to see who is on your property at any given time. We are eager to provide you with a solution for the connectivity concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not operating as intended. If you are experiencing issues accessing live view, this could be due to a connection issue with either your mobile device or your Ring device. We recommend checking the signal strength of your device by following these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the Device Health tile.
Scroll to Signal Strength under the Network section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
Try turning the wifi off on your phone and see if the cellular data works faster. For an enhanced notification experience, we recommend turning on the Rich Notifications feature in the Ring app. Rich Notifications send you a snapshot image of what’s happening in front of your Ring security camera or video doorbell so you can easily see what’s going on without needing to open the Ring app. They are included in your Ring Home subscription. You may need to update your mobile device's operating system and download the latest version of the Ring app to access the latest in-app features.
When a Rich Notification appears, you can expand the notifications to zoom in and see a bigger version of the image. The process of expanding the image is a little different for iOS and Android. On iOS follow these instructions to enable the feature: Tap and hold the thumbnail to open up the full-frame snapshot. On Android follow these instructions to enable the feature: Drag down the thumbnail to open up the full-frame snapshot. In some cases, in order to ensure you receive notifications as fast as possible, you may receive multiple notifications. A regular notification to your smartphone will be sent as soon as possible and then that notification will be updated with an image. Rich Notification snapshots are available on your phone until your notification is dismissed. We do not store Rich Notification snapshots in the Ring app. If your phone has a poor connection, we store the snapshot in the cloud for up to four minutes so that we can deliver it to you as soon as you are back online. In some cases of poor connection, you may not receive Rich Notifications. You can toggle Rich Notifications on or off by doing the following: Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (☰). Tap Device. Select a device. Tap the Device Settings tile. Tap Notification Settings. Tap Rich Notifications. Toggle on or off to update your Rich Notifications settings.
