Good but not great
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well but the light is not very bright. I would recommend using the floodlight if you are able. Picture quality at night would significantly improve with better lights.

Disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first the spotlight worked well and would detect motion at the end of my driveway. Fast forward to fall and now it only turns on the light when I essentially get beneath it. I don’t know how the light got so bad like that and I am stuck with it.

Posted .Hello Digitalain,
Thank you for taking a moment to leave your review of the Ring Spotlight Camera. At Ring, we believe that stronger communities are the key to safer neighborhoods. That is why we are driven to create products that help you protect what matters most at home, and empower you to connect with your visitors from wherever you are. We are saddened to read that this device did not meet your expectations, but are still here to assist you, if needed.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Spotlight Camera picking up the correct motion. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Here is a helpful article that explains this feature in more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency.

This ring camera sucks - get the stickup cam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I get constant ghosting during nighttime hours. The rimg stickup cam is much better. Also the camera didnt even allow me to watch live as my dogs were barking and wife entered the door. That could’ve been anyone.

Needs a plug
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You cannot hardwire this camera. It has to be plugged in. If you decide to hard wire it instead or run the wire through a hole so it’s plugged in inside the house instead of outside you void the warranty.

Not recommended for outdoor use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is plug in (which can be unplug by intruder if outdoor use) not hard wire camera. Is more for indoor use. If you looking something for outdoor, would suggested other hard wire or wireless camera.

Posted .Hi cyn17,
We understand how important it is to feel confident in your home security, and the way your equipment is installed plays a huge factor in that level of certainty. The Ring Spotlight Cam Wired is designed to be installed outdoors with a IP55 weather-resistant rating, and plugged into a standard wall outlet. When taking measures to secure your device, we recommend installing a weatherproof electrical box outlet cover if someone removing your cable is a concern.
If you still have concerns regarding this, we would love to hear from you directly on our Ring Community forum. This is a platform intended for Ring users, just like yourself, to create open discussions regarding their Ring experiences, provide suggestions or feedback, and more: https://community.ring.com/.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not happy. They will probably blame it on wifi but it's a new router and everything else using works fine; even my little cheapie cameras that are even further away. I can stand right in front of it and it doesn't even see me.

Camera seem very good, difficult to install.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I believe this camera would be very good but we ended up turning it because we couldn’t get it installed. It had more to do with the installer than the camera. I don’t believe he was sure of what he was doing.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i have a ring doorbell which i love. because of that, i bought this outdoor wired camera as a security camera. very disappointing as live view turns off after a few minutes so there is no continued monitoring. There is a lag from when a motion triggers the camera and when i want to go live to see what triggered the camera, what ever it was is gone. i would not have purchased had i known. i had to splice the wire to feed it through my garage wall and plug into power so i cannot return or i would. For this reason i cannot recommend it.

Posted .Hello Shopper,
Thank you for providing this feedback. As we continue to work hard to reduce crimes in neighborhoods, Ring strives to improve our products to be compatible with all environments and provide a great overall experience.Ring's hardwired devices do time out after 10 minutes of live-streaming, so they can reset and begin capturing the next motion video immediately after. Also, Ring has implemented a feature in your video recordings called "Motion Stop". This feature automatically stops the recording after a Ring device stops detecting motion. The devices stop after 20 seconds for battery-operated devices even if physically installed as hardwired, and 60 seconds for hardwired devices without a battery option. This saves on battery life and data charges.

Ok Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera is good but the motion part has a lot to be desired. A lot of false alarms and if you set the sensitivity low it sometimes does not catch anything.
