Good during day, poor night performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this camera to overlook the turnaround/parking area at my house as have limited view of this area from the house and often can’t tell who just came up my driveway until they walk to the door. The motion detection and day time features work great, but in my opinion the camera has little to no night vision unless there is an alternative light source like a full moon or motion has already been triggered. If you just look at the live view at night I often see a little of the siding on my garage and black. I worked with tech support for over 3 weeks and while responsive their final determination was that my driveway is not reflective enough and the fact that my camera, which must be in range of WiFi, is picking up a piece of my siding black is all the camera will show in the dark. In my opinion the camera does not have the advertised night vision it has vision in low light. Priced as a premium product and about as effective and with the features of half the price.

Garbage

Mine worked great too at first but now it’s garbage. Hardly detected any motion no matter what zones I set or sensitivity level. Night vision detects absolutely zero motion which is pretty funny since that’s when you want your camera to work the most right? Ignore the good reviews on this website and look at other reviews because this camera is pure garbage and I for one will not be paying any monthly fee for it.

Be careful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kept having problems with connecting when an alert pops up, which alert was also delayed. Numerous times camera would start recording late. For example; would not record UPS delivering package, but would record has person is walking away. Or some times not record at all and all of a sudden there is a recording with package on doorstep. Tech support can be very rude and sarcastic. When i called and asked what I can do about delay, i was told to delete Ring and just keep the new improved Rapid Ring 2.0, and that problem will be fixed. I listened to him...and guess what? You can’t use ring with only rapid ring. I called back and that employee laughed at me for listening. You can not pause motion detection and was told to throw towel over camera if home working. I forgot to update credit card when mine expired. Account was suspended and all footage deleted...all over $3. And I just had a bunch of footage of some jackwagon who hacked my camera and was talking to himself at 2am. Scared the heck out of me...I thought someone was in my garage!!!! I bought Blink and have not had a single problem.

Too time consuming to cancel when not needed

Our Ring Protect Plan is an optional plan that covers video recording services for Ring devices. In addition, the Ring Protect Plus Plan covers professional monitoring if you have a Ring Alarm system.

Don't waste your money

Called RING they told me it was a problem with the camera and I would have to purchase another one. How ridiculous that they want me to purchase another one when they don't stand behind their equipment. The camera was only a little over a year old and they don't stand behind it. Don't waste your money. Such poorly made equipment.

All our devices do come with a limited one-year warranty, in which Ring will repair or replace any Ring products that malfunction due to defective parts or workmanship, at no charge to you. There is also an extended warranty available through our Ring Protect Plus Plan option.
For extended warranty coverage to apply to your Ring device, the device must be within its original warranty period when you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus. Once the original warranty expires, the device will be covered under Ring protect Plus until you discontinue your subscription. Non-Ring and other third-party devices are not eligible for the extended warranty.

My ring camera

Not ready for prime time has been a waste of time

Have spent hours with support and exchanged a unit with improvements but overall, totally unreliable. Would not recommend it for purchase.

No motion detection at night.
