Customers are saying

Customers highly value the camera's picture quality and ease of use, with many praising its simple installation. However, some users express concerns regarding battery life and motion detection reliability. The availability of a solar panel is also a plus for many. While some appreciate the wireless functionality and affordable price, others find the night vision and cloud storage options lacking.

Superb picture quality - Easy to install

This is our 2nd Ring product purchase. Our first taste of Ring products was the Ring Pro doorbell. That product installed (1 1/2 months ago) has worked as advertised. We now have a need for web based camera that can function either indoor or outdoor. Enter Ring's stick up camera. After reviewing the manufacturer's instructions, installation was a snap! Picture quality is exceptional (720P). Every family member or friend that has viewed the camera themselves have been very pleased. In closing, if you are looking for a quality moderately priced web cam, do not overlook Ring's stick up cam. It's everything you need, and nothing you don't.

Spotty video and motion sensing, not what I hoped

I installed this item to replace an Arlo camera on my garage due to the fact it had audio associated with it and I have a Ring Pro and that works great. The big issue with this camera is that it is Wireless on its own and the issue there is you need to have Wifi close to the placement of the item or a range extender to make sure you have a strong signal otherwise you will get spotty video and slower speeds especially if you try and mount this farther away from the house. I have this mounted on my garage and my WiFi is Verizon Fios 100mbps with a new Orbi Tri-Band Whole house internet and still had to add a Netgear Range extender to this item and that still does not do the trick. We are not talking through layers of brick here either. This is a few walls and this camera is not strong enough to make it work. I called tech support and they cant explain it. If you are looking at purchasing this, think twice if you really need audio. Stick with Arlo.

I picked this up at the same time as my ring doorbell. Again, Ring has a program for unlimited cameras connected to the web for one low price now. This one I have watching my back porch. Works great! I really like the IR Lights for night vision. Was easy to hook up, easy to set up. Occasionally I have a problem getting the live view, but it always sense when someone walks in front of it.

    It's Ok but needs Improvement

I purchased this Yesterday to put up at my home to use for security purposes. I had orginally wanted to mount the camera inside the window in the front of my house but for some reason it puts a glare on the glass even though there is no light on the camera which in turn makes it so you cant see through the window. I mounted it out front above my door and got a few motion alerts. Now the live view is not working which makes me wonder if the motion sense is also not working. The guy at best buy had said that he thought the Arlo would be better but I didn't want to have a camera that stood out. ( The Arlo is White instead of Black unless you purchase a $20 black cover) I will most likely be returning this to get one that will actually work as described.

Love this camera. Easy to set up and install anywhere. I bought the solar panel for it so, no more cords to charge. Set it and forget it. Great Cloud prices for storage and notifications. Love the zone feature so that you block out certain areas of the yard or front driveway to avoid mass notifications of nothing.

I already owned a Ring Doorbell and the stickup cam fit nicely along side that product around my house. The camera was easy to install and works perfectly. The app is very helpful and I couldn't be happier with the two products!

Not a good choice for outdoor security

I picked this up to cover the area that my Ring Pro doorbell does not cover. The Ring Pro doorbell it awesome so I thought this Stick-Up cam would be the perfect solution so I could see my entire front yard. I suspect that the electronics in the Stick Up camera are old and not equivalent to the doorbell. I spent about 4 hours running cables and cutting holes so that I could mount the unit about 10 feet up on the corner of the house. Well I finally got it mounted and it would not sense any motion at all. So I searched online and found a FAQ that said these need to be 6-7 feet high. My first thought was "What is the point" because if I mount it where it can be removed I have no security. But just to touch all bases I mounted it at 7 feet and low and behold it would only register motion when I was almost right up to it. Bottom line is that while the Ring Doorbell Pro is awesome the Stick up camera is at the oppostite end of the spectrum.

      Hi Mark,

I'm sorry to hear about your recent experience with your Stick Up Cam. When Stick Up Cam is mounted too high, it often gets angled sharply downwards. This can work if you're only looking to detect motion in a very small area, but more often than not results in not detecting approaching visitors or capturing the top of heads when the motion sensors are triggered. I'd like to connect with you today to address the issues you stated in your review above. Kindly email me at [email protected] so I can further investigate your concerns. I look forward to hearing from you, Mark!

Ring Stick Up Cam "Live View" Problems

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I went to Best Buy and purchased the bundle with the 2 cameras and the 1 video doorbell. I was having problems at first with the doorbell and I knew it could not be my internet speed or reception. The Stick Up Cam barely works with Live View no matter where I place it. It'll work for two seconds and then won't turn back on. I'm not sure about this product and I'm probably going to take it back. I didn't spend so much money to have something work only sometimes.

      Hi Chris,

I would like to connect with you today to resolve the issues you are experiencing with your Stick up Cam. I want to be sure we get your Stick up Cam up and running consistently along with all of its features, including Live View. I see that you mention it cannot be your internet speed or reception, however I would love to take a look at your upload speed in particular. Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection isn't as strong at the front or outside of the house and we recommend installing a Wi-Fi extender if that is the case. I'd be happy to assist you with resolving these issues so that we can turn this experience around for you, Chris and get your Ring devices working consistently. Please reach me directly at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you!

If I could give this item zero stars I would. I have the Arlo cam and wanted the ring because it lasted longer on battery plus you can add the solar Panel to it to keep charge. Set up was easy. But when you go to live view it wouldn't even open on my phone. Even when it senses motion it wouldn't open. I'm sticking with Arlo because I've had no problems except changing the batteries. At least Arlo loads and captures video. The stick up cam didn't even load.

I purchased two stick up cameras and was pleased at first. Then came the time when my wi-fi had to be replaced. One camera went through re-programming just fine. The other camera did not. I contacted Ring and was told they would replace the camera. Waited for a very long time and they never sent the replacement camera. If you buy these cameras you are on your own if something goes wrong.

This device is pure c^&p. It worked briefly but not very well. People would ring the doorbell and walk away before I got a notification. Don't believe the BS about ensuring proper settings either. After several lengthy phone calls to customer support, nothing was resolved to my satisfaction. After awhile, the device started to burn through battery life. Don't believe the BS about this either. It wasn't because I used live view too much or some such nonsense. Even while I was on the phone with customer support, the battery life went from 96% to 53% and the rep tried to play it off like I'm stupid or something. I finally was so fed up I asked for my money back, but the rep said there was nothing he could do but give me another one of these pieces of .... I've spent more time trying to get this thing working than it's worth. Meanwhile, some guy could come up and still the ... package for the new one and I won't have video of it because this stupid ... doesn't work! Heed my suggestion...DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DEVICE!

Weak detection - horrible app - large lag time

So after returning the ARLO, i picked up this other wireless cam option. I will ALSO be returning this as well. The motion detection is horrible! I literally stood in front of the cam and waved my hand for like 5 minutes and nothing. When it did pick up motion, i got an alert around 5-10minutes later. Can you imagine the lag when getting an alert and viewing live!?!? the motion zones don't make a difference and the APP takes forever to get a secure connection. And it's not by fault of my router since the stick up cam sits directly below the router! Back to the NEST i go.

Couldn't get it to work outside, this is possibly down to the materials that my house is constructed from blocking the signal. Also had an issue with very short battery life, went from 100% to 53% in five days indoors.

I am extremely disappointed with this product. The Ring has let me down. After installing the Ring, the problems began immediately. The motion did not pick up anything and when it did it was to late, what ever it was had passed already. Not to mention what little was recorded would freeze. I even bought its own router which was sitting right next to the window in where the Ring was located and it was the same result. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend the Ring Stick Up Camera to anyone.

Took about 20 tries to get the camera to connect with wifi, when it finally did it worked pretty good for about 3 hours, then it became very sporadic. I walked in front of it 10 times throughout the day and it notified me 3 times. The other 7 times nothing. And the live video worked about half the time. This thing is just complete garbage, that's the best I can say about it, so I returned it.

We purchased four of these cameras. I RECOMMEND NOT WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY on them. The video quality is not good at all. There is so much activity it does not show. We have seen cars in our driveway- The cameras do not show where they came from, which way they left or why they were there. People have walked through our yard and the cameras do the same thing and don’t show where they came from or which way they went when they left. Many times they shut off for long periods of time. I have seen dogs come up by our door and I have got in my vehicle and left and the motion detector never alerted us. It is ridiculous to know put our trust in this company and our safety is still a major concern.
