    Not worth the trouble

    I purchased the camera in September and have nothing bu problems with it. The first one would not charge, so I was sent another one. That would send a motion alert when my flag blew in front of it, but not when a person was at my door. I was told that because my house sits in the sun all day I would have to move my flag or get continuous alerts. Then this camera needed to be charged, so I charged it for several hours and checked my phone to ensure it was charged. I placed it back on my door and when I left the next morning, the battery was dead. "Customer service at ring" stated that I have over 200 alerts between 8:30 AM and 1:40 PM today. Since the battery is dead, I don't know how there events were even registered. They will have me do a "factory reset" today and if it's still not working, they will send me another one. The will be three cameras in 4 months. Don't waste your money.

    Great Idea, Only Not In Reality

    RING STICK-UP CAM has a problem of not recording for 15-30 seconds. I purchased a repeater, but it did not delete the lapse. To their credit, Ring has been trying to help resolve the problem by sending a solar panel (to help recharge) and other wi-fi repeaters (at no charge), but nothing has changed. Still not working as advertised and I CAN NOT recommend this product as it is at this time. Do not waste your money. Also, RING DOORBELL camera does NOT record people until right at door, if it does record them (not like in Ring promo videos where it sees them much farther away) or when they ring. The Ring Doorbell picks up people leaving the house extremely well, but what good will that do?

    when they say optional cloud service after the trial period is over its not really Optional The product will alert you an event occurs but the video will no longer be available until you HAVE to sing up for the cloud service

    Worst Piece of Technology I Have EVER Purchased

    This is the worst piece of technology I have ever purchased, and I've been purchasing technology since the IBM Selectric Typewriter! First, the Ring did not "see" my 5 GHz router. Then, even using the 2.4 GHz band, with the router just above the location I was installing the unit (couldn't be more than 15 feet,) it would not connect. Really? Every other device on my network gets a strong signal on both bands. This is by far a disappointment and I cannot recommend any one purchasing this item. As for me, back it goes to Best Buy in the AM and I'll just purchase a less expensive cam that actually works!

Do you happen to know what your upload speed is? You can check by visiting www.bandwidthplace.com on your cell phone, and running a speed test right next to where your Ring Doorbell is installed. We also recommend running a speed test right next to your router, and comparing the two speeds. Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection isn't as strong at the front of the house.     Critical Information Omitted

    This company has great packaging but woefully incomplete product information. After two days fooling around with customer service, I found by accident that the operational range of this device is barely 30 feet. Had this critical data been revealed, I would never have purchased Ring. Now I have to waste more time returning it. On the other hand, it's good to see who may be on, or close to your front porch. My poor review is due to the company's failure to make abundantly clear the effective range of their slick device

    Instructions only in French

    Just got this home and preparing for installation and the paper instructions were only in French language. Purchase was made in TN.. It just amazes me sometimes how a company can make a great product but fail to include proper instructions. I bought 2 and both were the same. I also noticed that the boxes were not sealed so it might be a good idea to have someone at the store help you verify that nothing has been removed. I found instructions online but I prefer the ones in the box.

    More of a decoy than it is usable

    I've had this device over a year. I can't think of any pros other than people may think that you have a good recording of them. The cons: takes about 5 secs to activate recording by the time it starts the ups guy is able to drop off a package and leave before I even capture his face. I will walk up my driveway and into my house and by the time it records you can hear me locking my door and the dogs barking but no image of me.... garbage product

    Does not always work

    Seems to work once in a while then I could litterly walk up to it 100 times and nothing. My internet connection is high and fastest out there and the camera stick is charged at almost s 100%. So I don't understand why sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Defeats the purpose of even having installed a security camera and drilled holes in my wall!

    Buy at your own risk

    If the unit does not work with your WIFI (right out of the box) you are on your own. You will basically have spent over $200 for a non-working product which neither Best Buy or RING will refund you on. Days of trying to work with RING got us nowhere.
