I would check if battery last as soon as I bought it but I am disabled and could not find someone to put it, as soon as you get it leave it in the living room and see if battery last. I wish this sweepstake is real

We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) so that you are able to have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.
To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:
Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.
You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.
To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.
Tap your device's Settings.
Select Power Settings.
Check your Battery Status: Battery Level percentage and Feature Power Usage. You will get a message under any features using extra power. Tap the feature to adjust the settings.
Additionally, cold weather below 36°F (3°C) can temporarily impact battery longevity. When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges.

It has night vision & sound is great. I speak to my Mom alot as My mother has a hard time using the a cell now. Its keeps us at ease for Moms care. The downside is battery life isn't as long as it says. We usually recharge every week or 2. Keep in mind the more live you go or the more you talk throught it, it wears down battery life. Great form of communication for us. Moving it around is easy. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for battery life. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Frist two at once, then decided to get another one for between my neighbor and my house. Good points it is completetly wireless power and video. The battery is long lasting. Put up the first two over two months ago the they show 89 percent still charged. Ring hasn't changed technology where other forces you to update the hardware and have to buy all new to stay with their brand. Gone thru a few and can tell Ring has the most configure control to make it work like you need.

At the same time it gives us a view of most of our front yard and garage door for security purposes. Very easy to mount, set up and operate. Gives us live views on demand on our phones. Great addition for monitoring and security.

I purchased them for years all different prices and Ring it takes more then 2 steps back on this item. Pros: Quality built, great customer service, can add as many cameras as you want for only $10 a month with Ring Pro. Has a spot so you can add a wire connection for the future or to add a solar panel. CONS: Remember it has great quality videos in the day, so lets hope that's the only time you'll need it because the night vision is horrible. Won't work at all without wifi Even if you have power but don't have wifi, the camera will not work. If it did work this camera would get a 5 out of 5, but I tested the battery cameras and the wired cameras I own and none of them will work during a wifi outtage let alone a power outtage. The lights won't even blink. Another downside is you are limited to how long you can record videos. I don't mind it. I think 30 seconds is long enough, but the wired version has better detail and also will let you record for up to 2 minutes. I highly recommend getting the wired version because a spare batter is less than $30 but a replacement wire is $40. I have another brand of cameras from Reolink and they work during power outtages and wifi outtages and at a fraction of the cost of the Ring Cameras. I would still recommend Ring as a back up camera though because lets face it the Ring Alarm is $10 a month and no additional fees for cameras. It's still a good deal and don't put all your eggs in one basket. It's nice to have different companies.

I use the solar charger so I don’t have to worry about charging or replacing a battery. I only wish the motion detector had a longer range.

This is my 6th camera (4 outdoors + doorbell) in addition to the Ring alarm so I'm well versed in what to expect out of Ring products. It works as it should. Battery life is decent. Don't have to charge but every couple of months. Decent choice if you're already invested in the Ring/Amazon ecosystem.
