This is the only one I have trouble with. My whole house is WiFi connected and never had trouble. Now this thing doesn’t work and I missed cyber Monday sales on actual good products. Cannot express how disappointed I am over this being garbage. I assumed, wrongly of course, that the people giving it bad reviews because they don’t know what they are doing with tech products or home connectivity. I do, and not only have my house connected, but work in the industry. It’s actually pathetic how poorly this thing functions compared to every other brand I have tried and used. I’m embarrassed for Ring, and disgusted with the fact that I used a gift card and a 10% off coupon to purchase this product. Asking bestbuy what they will do to rectify being that I purchased this on Cyber Monday and it’s trash out of the box. Pic of the repeated error that continuously appeared included. It worked for about 10 seconds, and then this message everytime.

If your trying to guard the home it gives good updates but the delay in live video is slow. May want to invest in a more higher end system if your not ok with the quality. Make and model are good but plates are better in identifying criminals.

There are at least two different models that are very similar, one designed to sit on a shelf another that has a bracket to mount, this one is the shelf model.

I had considered the doorbell but went with the cam and I am so glad I did. You can hear and speak to visitors yet it’s up out of the way. It works wonderfully. Absolutely love it.

We love it! It was part of a great package deal so I bought 3 separate packages, one for each of our kids homes too! Very happy with purchase and a great deal!

The neighbor has their positioned the same way and it does capture stuff but it is a different brand. I had to put it in the bushes just to capture things but then condensation got on it and fogged the camera and it didn't capture anything. It didn't capture anything when we had it in the window, there is an overhang porch cover and porch fence so I don't know if that caused issues.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-in is a next-generation security camera that can be used both indoors and outdoors to bolster the security around your home. The Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-in features 1080p full HD resolution, night vision, two-way audio, HD video recording, and a wide viewing angle with multiple power options. The Ring Stick Up Cam was designed to activate based on your specific needs. Your Stick Up Cam will be happy just about anywhere, indoors or out. It can sit on its own stand, or mount to a wall or ceiling with a special Stick Up Cam Mount. Choose a spot where it can provide the view that you want. If you'd like a downward camera angle, swivel the base around so that the long side faces the front, then tilt your Stick Up Cam so it points downward.
This camera uses Adjustable Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distance. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the Motion Frequency setting. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This includes increasing the "Motion Sensitivity" and setting "Motion Frequency" to "Frequently" in the Ring app.
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling Smart Alerts for people only in your Ring app.
To enable Smart Alerts:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Smart Alerts.
Tap Enable Feature.
Tap Continue.
Select the notification options that you want for Person and Other Motion.
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings tap Done.
