The Ring Stick Up Cam is designed to bring you peace of mind with reliable performance. By using one, you should be able to see, hear, and speak to your visitors. Rest assured, our team is here to help diagnose and resolve this together.

Although distance does play a big part in the overall connectivity and quality of the live video, there are other factors to consider. Nearby interference, network limitations or a combination of both can also affect your cameras' ability to connect to quality video in a timely manner. For example, if your cameras are mounted on a surface that is made out of heavy-duty materials, an otherwise strong signal may diminish as it passes through those. Materials such as metal, brick, and cement could prove to be a challenge. Do you happen to have your cameras mounted on or near something like this?

The features and technology provided by the Ring Outdoor Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. For optimal performance of the Ring device in low light settings, we recommend using the night vision feature. To turn the "Color Night Vision" on or off, follow these instructions:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the device you want to adjust.
Tap "Device Settings."
Tap "Video Settings."
Toggle "Color Night Vision" on or off.

Although rare, there have been instances where a Ring device can experience black, pink, and other distorted video quality, like night vision video captured during daytime hours. Here are a few things to try.

Check your Ring device's signal strength.
If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection or video issues.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the "Device Health" tile.
Scroll to "Signal Strength" under the "Network" section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.

Reboot your Ring Outdoor Cam in the Ring app.

Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the device that you wish to reboot.
Tap on the "Device Health" tile.
Scroll down to "Reboot This Device."
Give your device a few moments to start back up.

While our Ring Stick Up Cam has fixed viewing angle, our Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In with Pan-Tilt does offer pan and tilt feature for a wider viewing angle. Go from a stationary 130° field of view to 360° pan coverage and 117° of tilt for a more complete view of your surroundings.
