It sounds like you are concerned with the need for the Ring Home Plan subscription in order to view and save recordings from the device. At Ring, we work hard to be completely transparent in both our products, and the optional services in which we provide. The Ring Home Plan is mentioned on our Ring packaging, on our website, in the welcome email you received upon setting up your device. Your Ring products provide their standard features (instant alerts, live view, and two-way talk) without any subscription. Ring Home Plans simply offer downloading and sharing video capabilities, for those who want them.

It sounds like the device is not operating as intended in regards to video quality. Ring devices require high-speed internet to bring you crisp, clear video and audio. Poor network connectivity can affect the performance of your Ring device. Identify and troubleshoot what is causing connectivity issues for Ring devices to give you the best possible video and audio experience.

To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.

Having a solid charge on your battery-powered device ensures that you do not miss any activity around your home. We can definitely provide you with some information regarding your battery-life concern.

It sounds like you are concerned about the battery life of your Ring device. There are some steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal performance.

The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using Live View often will drain your battery faster. In addition, if your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.

To prevent excessive activity, under Motion Settings for your device in the Ring app you can:
Adjust your Motion Sensitivity slider to a lower sensitivity.
Redraw your Customizable Motion Zones.
Change Motion Frequency to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

You can go to Power Settings in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery. To access Power Settings, open the Ring app:
Tap menu (≡) on the top left of the Dashboard. Tap Devices.
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check. Tap Power Settings to check your Battery Level percentage and Feature Power Usage.
Tap a feature to adjust Snapshot Capture, Motion Frequency and Video Recording Length.

Using the incorrect power mode for your Ring device can result in the battery draining too fast. To optimize the performance of your Ring device, please follow the steps below to ensure that your Ring device is in battery mode.

1. Open the Ring app.
2. Tap the menu (☰).
3. Tap Devices.
4. Select the device you want to update.
5. Tap Device Settings.
6. Tap Power Management.
7. Tap Power Mode.
8. Select Battery Mode and follow the prompts in the app.

It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the compatibility ifof the device mounts. The Ring Pan-Tilt Mount with Indoor/Outdoor Power Adapter can be used to upgrade a Ring Outdoor Cam from a stationary 130° field of view to a 360° pan coverage and 117° tilt coverage for a more complete view of your surroundings. The Ring Pan-Tilt Mount can only be powered with the Ring Indoor/Outdoor or Ring Indoor Power Adapter Barrel Plug and cannot be powered with the Ring Quick Release Battery Pack or Ring Solar Panel. For Ring Outdoor Cam Battery or Solar, select a bundle with either an Ring Indoor/Outdoor Power Adapter or Ring Indoor Power Adapter.

It sounds like your Ring Outdoor Cam is not performing as expected. We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring Outdoor Cam functioning as intended. If your device is unresponsive, try pressing and holding the reset button for 20 seconds.

Follow these steps in the Ring app to reconnect the Ring Outdoor Cam to your wifi network:

1. Open the Ring app.
2. Tap the menu (≡).
3. Tap "Devices" and select the camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi.
4. Tap the "Device Health" tile.
5. Under "Network," tap "Change Network" and follow the prompts in the app.

Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in "Device Health" to confirm it has successfully reconnected.
